Helsinki - Some Advice from our Finnish Friends

Hello Everyone,

I will be travelling through parts of Europe at the end of April, with a stop in Helsinki for four days. Does anyone have any advice on some decent hunting shops in or around Helsinki that may be of interest to a travelling hunter? Also, I really like the Finnish brand Harkila, I think they make some very high quality gear. Any suggestions on where I may find a nice selection to have a look at? Any other brands I should be seeking out?

Also, we will be taking the ferry across to Tallinn, in Estonia for four days as well. The same questions apply for here too.

I'd check following places (reasonably close to downtown Helsinki)

Varuste.net and Varusteleka shops are close to each other. Varusteleka is originally a military surplus selling business but due to Russian attack to Ukraine, the amount of surplus is nowadays limited. Their own brand clothing (Särmä) is pretty good and you can find some deals from there.

Theis shop is a little further away if you visit the main shop in Tuusula (close to Helsinki Airport)

Both Ruoto and Varuste.net sell Härkilä. However the selection in the stores might vary a lot. Especially Ruoto is pretty much the Finnish Cabelas. All of the shops have English webpages.

I'd also check Finnish brand Sasta. Their clothing, especially the more expensive lines, are good.

You have given me lots of information, I appreciate it. The Sasta stuff, especially the cold weather clothing, looks to be exactly what I have been searching for.
