New rifle for civilian sport market. Hellion, made in Croatia.

This really is something new.

I am aware for Israeli Tavor in semi auto, but not for other similar bullpup designs in semi automatic version.

I have read several articles on this new rifle. I will be interested in seeing if the public buys into the bullpup Really the first mainstream company to give it a try.
Don

Springfield has large marketing machine.
And dynamic sporting shooters are inclined towards it.
Price reasonable.
I see it as a good potential - especially with virtually empty market for this type of rifle.

True. In popular culture immortalized in "Die hard" movie.

Some other bullpup designs:

Steyer Aug, IWI Tavor, Kel-Tec RFB, FN P90, Desert Tech MDRX.

I’m not really a bullpup fan, except for maybe the Barrett M99. That’s because 50BMG’s are typically way too long to mess with. I prefer AR pistols for half the price of a bullpup.

First mainstream company to give it a try? Steyr.
Steyr AUG is my favorite bullpub. FN gave it a go with the FS2000 and P90. IWI sold boatloads of the Tavor when they first came out. Tavor is the best selling bullpup to date in the USA. Still none have improved upon the Strurmgewehr 77, AKA Steyr AUG.

Its ambidextral.

Cool. May have to have one. Thanks a lot!

If you get one, let us have your feedback, or some review!

So today we have ,a new pistol for Springfield, and from Croatia.
First Croatian modular pistol.
Released today. American market.

To each their own. The Steyr made rifles were, as I can attest, less than ideal, as a standard issue personal weapon. The Australian licence-built rifles were pieces of *#$&&@! The same applied to every Australian made spare part that was supplied to the NZDF. As a range toy, a genuine Steyr rifle might be okay. It is worth remembering that the Stg 77 was devised as a quick, cheap—Cold War—replacement for old 7.62x51 rifles, pending the development of a brand new caseless weapon system.
P.S. It is my understanding that the Croatian rifle was the top performer in the recent French tests BUT political considerations will likely result in the contract going to Heckler und Koch.

Not sure about service type rifle, but I tested a friends civilian version on the range (semi automatic with 10 round mag). It is little bit different from American hellion, different mag.
Ammo no-name, factory brand: "GGG" made in Finland, bulk pack, fmj
Target ISSF 100 meters. (10 ring, cca 2 inch diam)

On photo, there is one group 5 shots on the right.
Then second group 5 shots on the left in center, after adjusting the scope.
(group forming is almost identical)
Rifle in this case is practically 1 moa rifle.

Was strange to shoot bullpup, but my impressions are very positive.
Easy to field strip and clean.
After its release to civilian local market is becoming increasingly popular.

Long and a bit hard trigger pull, is my only negative impression.

Their is a reason why that market stays empty. It's not as easy or as fast to reload, triggers are not as smooth, controls are not the same as what everyone is familiar with. My .02
