I head to Whitehorse, Yukon next week to hunt Dall Sheep with Dickson Outfitters (http://www.dicksonoutfitters.com/ ). This is the second hunt of the season, which just opened on Aug 1st. I already received a text and a few photos from Dave Dickson and the results of the first hunter for the season. The first hunt was a Kluane special permit sheep hunt. A super special 175 ram! Hope to do a hunt report in late August.

Congrats, that 175 ram is stunning. Just remember its the adventure, the hunt, take it all in and get a mature ram!

Have a blast. what rifle? I just read an article in Sports Afield in which the fellow hunted Chamois I think it was, with the 375 Ruger.

Taking a titanium Remington 700 in 270. Very light weight rifle. Just got back from the range (heat index over 100F in Louisiana today) and grouped very nicely at 200 yards and was hitting a 10 inch steel plate at 270 yards. I then tried the 475 yard steel plate twice, no hits and couldn't tell were the shots were going in a grassy field. At that point I retreated to air conditioning.

Besides my selfish reasons, let me share from my mistakes; take lots of pictures. Would enjoy seeing them, best of luck, and I suspect you're about to find out how good of shape you're in.
