I was having a conversation the other day asked one the younger members in the convo when last time outide of school they read a book..... the reply does a watching a documentary count...

Your not going to get anyone under thirty to watch a youtube video longet than 3 minutes let alone read a 300+ page book

That's exactly why I wonder about the future of African hunting....the new generation could care less.

Vintage cars as well. I think that once our generation is gone, the market will plumet. About 10 years ago, I owned a 1980 Ferrari 308, and my teenage son could care less about it. When I was a teenager, if my father had an old Ferrari I would have had a heart attack!

Same with cars from 90s early 2000s. Now my generation is essentislly as established as there going to be there feeling nostalgic for things they have positive associations
Like a boomer and a car from the 50s and 60s.
But also economically times are alot different just in the last few years the income level needed to buy a house has more than doubled.
Who can dream of hunting in africa with a $3k-60k rifle and spending 2k+ on a flight and $10-100k shooting something and shipping parts back. When they cant even afford the basics.

I dreamed of a Ferrari since seeing one on Magnum PI, and finally bought one when I was 50.

The kids of today are more interested in instagram and playing video games with their friends.

I don't know a single young guy who wants to hunt Africa. That's all I thought about when I was younger

And you are so right about prices skyrocketing. Not many people I know have an extra 50Gs to drop on a 2 week trip. And now with the shipping/clearing trophy rip offs, it's getting even worse

The outfitters, govts, shipping companies, airlines etc are killing the golden goose and they are going to price themselves out of business

For example: I know that Tanzania is a vast place and doing business with the corrupt officials there can't be easy or cheap, but how on earth are Safari companies charging us $3,000 a day, just for daily rate?

I also have. 308 along with other similar cars, I have had them 25 plus years and have three sons, none of them care one bit. My dad had a 944 and I was in heaven in 1984
