This waterbuck came out of the same canyon the following day. My PH was Wighart van der Gryp.

good job robert, nothing cant be done with a handgun that can be done with a rifle.as always, practice, shot placement, bullet construction.

With Wighart and my Gemsbok

Great trophies Robert.

Well done Robert. Hand guns have always fascinated me. Ive seen some great animals taken with handguns....

Good looking trophies!
Gemsbok have given me the slip before, perhaps I need to leave the rifle at home next time!:P Cowboy:

Thanks. That one was sneaky ax well. The tracker took off after the herd, I saw him slipping into the mopane and chased him into the thicket.

Sounds like it's time for you to go again!

good idea.

Super trophies, 300 yard shot is brilliant, congrats.

long shots can and are made with the handgun.as always shot placement and bullet constructions is the key.this is longest shot i ever made, last day cow elk hunt, the heard had gone down the ravine and up the other side with the lead cow standing broad side looking across at us.the guide said 300 yards, looked longer to me,my rangefinder wasnt working in the snow so had to assume he knew what he was talking about.had a perfect rest and my scope sighted encore in 308.to be safe i held a little higher than i thought for 300 yards and made the shot.came back next year for a moose hunt and ranged that shot then,351 yards.i try not to do those hotdog shots,it was stupid.

Beautiful trophies all of you guys (y)

I'm a bowhunter, but only a wannabe handgun hunter...need to practice a lot

Wow Edward I didn't know you were making shots that far off but can't say I am entirely surprised!

its not something i like to do all the time,200 yards im ok with, but if possible i like to get as close as i can, that to me is hunting, get as close as possible and then a little closer.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike
