Gun Fight at OR Tambo 2 dead, 7 injured

"What would the USA be like without any police".....reporter
"It would be like.....like a suburb".....Politician AOC

That is a REAL conversation here in the USA.

With this kind of idiocy, what can we hope for?

Stay strong, Friends in RSA..........FWB

I think the world has gone mad when it comes to allowing small groups of radicals / criminals / racists to dictate that everything the average hard working citizen holds dear and believes in to be demonized .

I cannot believe what is currently happening in the USA at the moment ( Obviously being in SA I might not have the correct facts or perception so if I am wrong please help me right )

If I understand correctly BLM seem to want to defund the police and withdraw them from society , destabilize the western concept of nuclear - families and replace it with the “state” , release criminals from prisons , legalize the drug trade and prostitution , have people qualify for free benefits from the state purely on the basis of race , have criminal records declared null and void , remove memorials and other statues of historical significance , reform the criminal justice system , etc .

If what I understand of BLM is correct then it is absolute lunacy and it boggles the mind that prominent sport-stars , actors , politicians , companies , etc even support their agenda and goals .

What is even more incomprehensible is that a relatively small organization is allowed to dictate their terms and conditions to the rest of the USA , including acting like terrorists and common criminals - destroying property , committing murder and civil unrest and they are tolerated and seen as the victims .

I suppose being a South African I should not be surprised as we have a lot of the same stuff happening in SA .

The incident at OR Tambo is far from an isolated incident , violent crime in SA is common place and a daily occurrence , and the state does nothing or very little to combat it .

The police in SA are largely regarded as not being up to the task , our criminal justice system is mostly ineffective and our government is plagued by large scale corruption and incompetence - a conducive environment for criminals to prosper .

nothing compared to a weekend in chicago.

Are you kidding ? Lol. Chicago doesn't even make the top 50 in the world. American news likes to make everyone think america has such a problem. As mentioned Chicago doesnt even make the top 50 in the world. South Africa has Durban, Capetown and Johan all in the top 50. Capetown being number 8 on the planet. Mexico has like 16 cities in the top 50. Chicago is Disneyland compared to these places.

Two men died and seven others were injured during a robbery at OR Tambo International Airport on Saturday.
It is believed the robbery had taken place in the cargo section outside the airport.
ER24 were on the scene and transported the injured to hospital under the supervision of the police.

She said at about 12:30pm a group of suspects entered the cargo section and held the staff at gunpoint at one of the warehouses.

“The manager of the warehouse noticed employees lying on the floor and immediately notified the police and airport security. On arrival at the scene, the police and airport security chased the suspects’ truck and bakkie which had just left the warehouse,” Muridili told the EXPRESS.

“A high-speed chase and shootout resulted. Subsequently, seven suspects were arrested, four of them with gunshot wounds while two more suspects were shot and killed. A civilian in the vicinity sustained a gunshot wound apparently by a stray bullet.”

Muridili said the police, when searching the suspects’ truck, recovered the stolen personal protective equipment (masks) as well as three crates containing cellphones.

The arrested suspects will be appearing at the Kempton Park Magistrates Court soon, facing charges of armed robbery.

"Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead. Seven other men were assessed and found to have sustained gunshot wounds, leaving them in moderate to serious conditions."
Just fyi, "nothing could be done for them..." because from some images death was instantaneous, as both were head shot.

I wonder if BLM will champion their cause?

Hi Fred .

In answer to your question below is a link that gives a bit more information :

https://southafricatoday.net/south-...and-7-farm-murders-in-south-africa-june-2020/

Farm attacks in SA take place in all provinces and all types of farms are targeted . The Northern Cape has least attacks due to its sparse population and distance from major centers .
Hunting / game farms are targeted from time to time but there very few attacks on hunting farms when there are guests / hunters . The farm attackers are by nature cowards and choose vulnerable victims which hold a low risk for them , the risk is too great for them when there are too many people , especially if those people are armed .
A lot of the victims of farm attacks are the elderly , women and children , or couples / small families that are alone on a farm .
The attackers use the element of surprise and very often target the men victims immediately by beating , stabbing or shooting them to eliminate the greatest risk to themselves .
Although the victims of farm attacks are overwhelmingly of european descent the attackers will not hesitate to attack any person on a farm irrespective of colour . In quite a few of the attacks black / coloured farm laborers are attacked and on occasion some are murdered . There has also been a few attacks on black farmers over the last few years too .
In SA the police are regarded as having one of the most dangerous policing jobs in the world , but statistically a SA farmer is almost twice as likely to be murdered if compared to a policeman .
The good news is that hunting farms/reserves with staff and guests tend to be fairly safe .
Last year our SA host had reason to sack a few of his workers from the farm. It was a bit tense for a couple of days not knowing if anything was going to happen, but as an insurance policy (at the time) loaded pistols were kept at hand.

You are correct , the videos and photos are very graphic , wonder what the repercussions would be if they were posted on this forum ?:LOL:
Best not find out .

Actually you have the situation occurring here in the U.S. pegged pretty well. The socialists intent is to destroy capitalism here and redistribute the wealth! They need the police out of the way to do it! AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN!!!

Yep that is pretty much what is going on. These groups and individuals, including political organizations and individuals here in the US who support or associate with them are really just small fish and pawns in a much bigger worldwide effort. There is big anon money being invested in this from many sources around the world- all with a common goal of destroying Western Civilization as we have known it. Many operate currently under the unstated but understood code of: "an enemy of my enemy is my friend.... for now". One easy to identify and well known source is Soros. IMO he foments this type anarchy for two reasons. It has become recreational to him, an ego play if you will and he can make huge money and has made huge money doing this through the buying and selling of market long and short futures.

Our PH almost cleared leather with his pistol at OR Tambo.

We had just met TJ and were headed to his truck as we entered the parking garage.
A guy started to follow us, my wife and I both noticed him.
We had set our bags down in an adjacent space to the bakkie.
The man approached, speaking in Afrkaans.
TJ immediately started yelling at him to get back as he grabbed his pistol.
My wife and I started looking behind us, in case he had friends coming at us from behind.
The man left quietly and that was the end of it.
We loaded up and left quickly.

It was a hell of a welcome to Africa.
As much as I hate to say it, I'm not surprised by this report given the current climate.

I did the B&B the first year at a B&B outside Tambo. My PH told me if I come back to NEVER leave Tambo again. I did go to the adjacent Citi hotel but was accompanied by my meet & greet guy.

Yep...you pretty much nailed it. As to how things are happening in certain parts of the US.

We, that is the law bidding citizens, to some extant, have some protections under our Bill of Rights, the first 10 amendments in our Constitution to legally, without infringement by our government, to do or be provided:

Most commonly verblized among these Rights are the to free speech, peaceful assembly, keep and bear arms, challenge our accusers and to present all evidence in a court of law, by which the Miranda Rights extended to have a legal representative (aka lawyer).....

Unfortunately, people use or abuse these Rights to their own profound agenda and out of context the intent of those who wrote our great constitution.

These rights are extended to everyone, US citizens and visitors, with some limitations, who are on American soil.

What rights do South Africans, and foreign visitors, have in defense of oneself, family and property from harm, theft or destruction?

Agreed, they are a radical minority. If they want a gunfight they’re going to get it. We’ve had about enough of their shit.

I missed a connection, it was maybe 8-9pm by the time we got our luggage and rebooked on flights the next day. A guy I had been talking to while waiting says he is going to get a cab and go find a hotel. I tell him to walk over the intercontinental, it is 50 feet from the door and they have rooms. He says he doesn't want to pay that much for a room and will just grab a cab and find something cheaper.

Some people just have to learn the hard way.
