Just received some ammunition I'm not familiar with for my 416 and 450 Rigby rifles.

This is the only 450 Rigby factory loaded ammo I've been able to find in nearly a year, so I figured it was worth trying. The brass is a headstamp I've not seen before, but the best news is it's correct for the cartridge and not formed from something else. Barnes X 450 grain bullets at 2450 should be enough for testing and groundhogs in the garden.

Anyone else ever try this brand of ammo before? It has to be better than the PPU ammo that prints minute of Basketball in some of my rifles.

My Norma and Hornady factory loads are well over $150 for 20 when I can find them, so I'd rather stash them and shoot these for now.

Safari calibers with Barnes bullets at $47 for a 5 pack is hard to beat.

Grizzly brand ammo is made in Oregon.

That is Bertram brand brass.

They are in Australia, so use the kangaroo stamp.

So Grizzly loaded it using Bertram brass.

Thanks for that information.

I have Norma and Hornady ammo and brass, but anything for the 450 Rigby is hard to come by, so I'm always on the lookout for new supplies. I do like the small 5 round boxes, as I can test this ammo in my rifles without spending $200 for a 20 round box of Hornady DGS or DGX ammo.

If the weather is decent tomorrow I plan to try a few rounds in both the 416 and 450 from the bench.

A productive day at the range. In the 450 Rigby, the Grizzly ammo gave groups hovering around 1 inch at 100 yds. My reloads with Norma brass and H4350 were on average around 3/4 inch. I would almost expect hand loads to do slightly better, but 1 inch groups from a large bore rifle with factory ammo at 100 yards is more than acceptable.

The Grizzly 400gr Barnes X 416 Rigby performed about the same.

I'll definitely be buying more of this ammo and saving the brass. More than acceptable accuracy for factory ammo and I have to say I like the small reusable 5 round plastic boxes it's packed in.

@tinktink12 gave the 450 Rigby a try and liked it more than my 375 H&H. For 5'6" gal to shoot a 450gr loaded to 2450fps is more than some guys can tolerate. (y)

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.
