Just ran across this forum, and I'm looking forward to reading it. I'm 64, retired, and live on a small ranch in central Texas. I have never been to Africa and probably never will, but it's been a dream of mine since I was a child. As a young boy, I spent many sleepless nights under the blankets with a flashlight, reading books by or about J.A. Hunter, Robert Ruark, Fred Selous, Henry Stanley, Hemingway, Osa & Martin Johnson, Philip Percival, Harry Selby, Karamojo Bell, et. al. as well as memorizing the ballistics of every African cartridge known to man. Since my safaris are limited to deer and maybe hogs around our place, I probably won't participate much here, but I humbly appreciate the opportunity to read the forums and other information on this wonderful site.
