Good Gun Deals This Week

That

Howdy...I should be receiving that 416 Rem Mag this coming week. Thankfully it was still available when I called them early yesterday morning. Now I'm on the hunt for some brass and bullets to test it out.
Interested to hear the story on that magazine box/floor plate.

Congratulations, looked like a great deal. Interested to learn about the magazine also.

I wish! Unfortun
Me too, assumed it is a magazine extension. Cabela's staff thought that is what it was too. I'll have to see how I like the look of it and more importantly, if it functions property. I might be hunting down some parts in the future to get it back to factory.

Saw a CZ 550 in 416 Rigby today for $1,100. Not sure if that is a good deal or not. It was sitting on a rack on the floor, next to a Ruger in 35 Whelen for $1,200. Only two large bolt actions in the place. Both looked to be in good shape. Was at American Rifle Works in Tigard, OR. Place specializes in mostly Tactical stuff. I used them as a transfer agent for a Tikka T3X.

Here's one that looks a bit dubious to me - according to Google Translate:

RIGBY bolt-action RIFLE, cal 416 Rigby Magnum,
Revolver stock with cheek piece
No. 11330.

https://www.interencheres.com/meubl...a-et-armes-anciennes-315575/lot-70273947.html

Someone seems to have stuck a check piece on the right hand side of the stock, which would need to come off. The quarter-rib looks horrible. And, of course, the .416 Rigby is the poor-man's .404 Jeffery.

On the other hand, the estimate is €600 - €800. Most of the blacking seems to be there, and it looks to have had an easy life. I am not interested, and on that basis cannot be bothered to do any further research, but it might be one of Paul Roberts' rifles from the '80s. We need VertigoBE to buy it and find out!

Rifle was owned by a well known French Doctor, who specialized in breast augmentation. He didn't like the lack of symmetry on the stock. I bet the new cheek piece feels really nice on the face.

Oh dear... what happened to that rifle... On the .416 Rigby side of things I'm well supplied however, wouldn't need this ugly duck to add to the vault.

'Put your head in between them and go blubbity-blubbity-blubbity with American Express'
About 20 years ago I sold something to a man from Finland. After we came to terms on price, he proudly said "I will pay you with my American Express Card'. I responded, "I don't take American Express". He was in disbelief. "But, this is America" LOL.

Now it costs us no extra to take Amex, but back then it was a different story.

This one may be full price for all I know.. Just thought it was a really nice rifle/setup

I did put a bid in for the sealed bid auction of Holt's for this:

Looks to be well used, some scratches on the wood and such, but nothing that cannot be helped.
Let's see what it gives.

Too good to be true?
I suspect that 416 Sako is being sold by a hacked account.

1. Last sale by seller was Feb 2019

2. Normal price is at least a thousand bucks more

3. Someone was trying to sell this exact rifle with exact pictures last month in Toronto Canada for $4,500

So stay far away from this "deal". Or call the Canadian seller SPON76 from last month at 647 686 7087 and see where he thinks the rifle is...
