Primary Arms has the Trijicon SRO with 1 Minute Dot on sale for $465.
https://www.primaryarms.com/trijicon-sro-sight-adjustable-led-1-moa-red-dot

With my state sales tax and Priority Mail shipping the total was $502.
This is the sight I use on my Heym double. The red dot has dozens of adjustments. It can be reduced to a super tiny barely able see pin prick or crank it up to a mini-sun on the extra large view finder. This makes it dynamite for close range and with a tiny dot, very accurate for a double rifle at 100 to 150 meters.

A bonus is that the battery loads from the top!

Some of this week's favorites. FYI, this seller is legit and I've had favorable interactions (and no hassle returns due to errors and omissions) with them on Gunbroker;

And probably my favorite for dads and granddads thinking about buying jr his/her first piece of sh&t deer rifle, how about this one instead for the same price?

Alright Mark…you sold me on this 1.0 MOA after seeing the great long shots you made with it on your Heiym!

Hi Mark, thanks for the heads-up on this. I am just starting my journey into the RMR world, but this price seems good. Do you, or anyone else, happen to know if this RMR will fit on an AHR Quick Detach mount meant for the BRNO 602/CZ550? I have bought a used rifle chambered in 404 Jeffery that came with this mount, and wanted to mount an RMR for a Buffalo hunt.

If it is the RMR mount with interfaces for a Trijicon RMR and a CZ550 then, Yes!
Thanks for the quick reply. It certainly looks like that..... however, would a mount to fit say a Leupold or any other brand look similar? I am away from home and cannot check until tomorrow.
Another question; is this particular RMR one to look out for, or are there others that would suit my needs just as well?

1. RMR mounting compatibility, NO! Read this: https://www.cz-parts.com/cz-red-dot-plates-mounts-compatibility-guide
2. I hunt with and will bet my life on a Trijicon SRO. It has a large view finder. I have the earlier Trijicon RMR like what @Rare Breed just sold to upgrade to a larger SRO.
-- Others may chose other brands and they may take their chances. The German Doctor sights also have a great reputation.
-- I once owned a Leupold RMR. I did not like the elevation and windage adjustments. I sold it!
-- In NRA Precision Pistol (formally know as Bullseye) I compete with the larger Aim Point H-1's 2 MOA because they don't make a 1 MOA. RMR's do not offer fine enough adjustments for this shooting discipline. The current model is the H-2 shown below. One could run one of these on a bolt action rifle. Magnifiers are available for Aimpoints.

Thank you so very much Mark, this is exactly the type of advice I was looking for!

Guys. That is one heck of a deal on an SRO! That is below my cost from most suppliers. I even bought one from them!!
I tried the Trijicon RMR 1moa and the put an SRO on. Big difference. I am putting SRO on CZ 458 win. in AHR QD mount.

Thanks Mark for the heads up!

I enjoy both RMR and SRO optics. I like the SRO sight picture better. But the RMR seems significantly more rugged and combat worthy to the extent that matters on the weapon the optic is intended for.

Lauritz.com, a Danish online auction house, has a couple of interesting rifles:

1 - a 1939 Radom Mauser in 8x57, complete with Polish eagle stamp on the action. Current price: DKK 3,600/ 2,300 zlots (excl. commission).

2 - a 1917 Eddystone in 30-06, needs a good clean (at least). Current price: DKK 350/ US$50 (!)

Planning is coming together! Just waiting to hear back from a couple outfitters to see what their availability is for this year, if any, and I'll be booking my first African hunt. Fingers crossed I can get one slotted for late August/first couple weeks of September.

Hi James, congratulations on winning a copy of Cries of the Savanna! I appreciate your interest in the book and hope you enjoy it.

I am leaving in an hour for the airport to meet up with my husband for a week so I will mail it as soon as I get home. I am sorry about the poor timing and making you wait.

Anyway, send me your address and I will get it in the mail as soon as I can.

Thanks again for entering!
