I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Every single time I've found something I thought was undervalued or at least worth a closer look, I've been told "oh, that sold yesterday." Last time it was a very high end but unsigned '50s custom M70 wearing a gorgeous piece of walnut. I called and confirmed that they had it in the store and that I could come see it. Took the guy an hour of fumbling around to conclude that it "just sold last night." Sure man, whatever. This has happened repeatedly.

That Jeffery double is extremely suspicious at that price.

Not sure what's going on at Cabelas, but I have my suspicions, and I'm done dealing with them.
 
I know two people that work/worked at Cabelas/Bass Pro. One went to work to be able to buy ammo, the other to collect guns. There are very savvy people working at these stores that purchase items.

As I understand they used to be able to buy guns at cost. They are now required to pay the minimum markup. Hard to beat them to an item when they have the inside track.

I worked in a gunshop for 8 years, the employees snagged the good trades in's long before they hit the shelves.
 
It's one thing to buy from the shop you work for. It's quite another to intentionally (and often, significantly) underprice things, then immediately purchase them for personal gain or resale, or surreptitiously sell them to a friend, and, additionally, to leave the ad up and intentionally mislead customers about availability to maintain foot traffic.

If I had a shop where employees were engaging in this behavior, I know what I would call it.

The Brno 602 (circa 1966) evolved into the CZ 602 in 1995 and eventually the CZ 550. There's a lot of similarities between the models.

Does anyone have both of these rifles and can post a side by side of the 2 showing the differences in the action? (If there are any?). What are the differences if there’s some? The cocking piece looks different, better on the 602.
Are the bolt bodies, action lengths, bolt face size etc all the same?
 
BRNO 602 action is excellent. The issue with them is the trigger which typically gets upgraded. Some people will also change the safety to a 3 position flag style but that’s personal choice.

I have used proxi-bid. It is legit. The prices go up quickly during the live bidding sessions. Also watch out for the auction fees and shipping. It can be a lot! I did get a good deal on a custom rifle built in a Polish Radom Mauser for only $1,000.

Yeah, not exactly how that went down and kind of ridiculous that I now have to come on here and defend myself.

I'm not usually long winded, so I apologize in advance to any bystanders that get sucked in.

I posted these rifles on Texas Gun Trader first before here for several reasons but mainly because I want guys to be able to see the rifles in person, feel the weight, shoulder them, work the action, feel the trigger, review the work that's been done and if they want it, they can buy it. It's face to face, no FFL fees, no shipping charges/hassle or worrying about shipping damage.

That being said there are down sides, people share it, scammers get a hold of it etc etc. I've got a large quantity people contacting me nonstop, from polite legit interested parties to obnoxious tire kickers and scammers, Oh Lord the scammers. I had a guy try to beat me up on price and then ask me to finance it and then on the other hand I had a long phone conversation about them with a member from here, which was great. Several guys in town have seen them and are trying to get the cash together and several more are scheduled to meet up and look at them.

So, from my perspective, I posted these on texas gun trader in the Houston section and I get a text from a new york number, no introduction, not a "my name is" or "I saw your adds on gun trader or AHF" no good afternoon, nothing. Just a guy asking for the serial numbers to my rifles...

If you do that to any of the guys on here, you're gonna get the same response you got from me.
"Hard Pass"

The rifles are fairly priced and people want them, I've got so many dang texts in my phone, I'll never be able to respond to all of them with 30mins to an hour of my time before they're sold, so I can pick and choose who I want to deal with and I can tell very quickly who that is or isn't.

Like Rodney Carrington said "The ugly girl better have a joke book in her back pocket"

I've been on here for 8 or 9 years and have a good reputation, I'm extremely easy to deal with, I've learned a lot and helped when I could. I've bought, sold and Traded more than I should have and overall made some great buddies on here. We get along and maintain the atmosphere we have on here because of common courtesy and mutual respect.

Just "slow down and you'll have a more harmonious outcome" <----any guesses, it's an easy one. :D

Was talking/texting to some boys on here last weekend about your .416 Dumoulin. Aaah, the one that got away. Completely understand listing these local. I generally only sell local for the same reasons—hate shipping and want the buyer to evaluate and be pleased with everything. Good luck with getting them moved.
