If won’t be sub $1000 by the time you land it in the USThat’s probably one of the nicest Parker Hale rifles in existence, and a sub $1000 375 Mauser is never a bad idea.
If it’s got no issues then you have a classic. If you can get it for a good price! If. I’d email the guys at holts and ask for a few other photos. Muzzle crown, stock cracks if any etc.If won’t be sub $1000 by the time you land it in the US

Fairly surprised that this hasnt sold yet
Considering open sights i think it is acceptable…Not the best test target??
What would be considered a good deal for something like this? I have a Cape Buffalo hunt booked for 28 and I am really considering purchasing a rifle rather than renting one for this hunt. Not a good deal probably .... just will be interesting where it turns up at the end
I get it but 65 yards…Considering open sights i think it is acceptable…
You will need 375hh or bigger. What would be considered a good deal for something like this? I have a Cape Buffalo hunt booked for 28 and I am really considering purchasing a rifle rather than renting one for this hunt.
As @farmer_john stated, a .375 is the minimum dangerous game rifle allowed in most countries in Africa. Since you have some time before your buffalo hunt, i would suggest you search for a rifle that is ready to go to Africa. In whatever price range fits your budget. By ready to go to Africa i mean it has all the known issues addressed, has good glass if you want a scope, and basically bulletproof. Then you can just concentrate on lots of practice time. Ask questions here if you need better info mine. I am certainly no expert. These type rifles are sometimes listed here on AH.What would be considered a good deal for something like this?
