Good Gun Deals This Week

Hmmm, I called them just now, the clerk I spoke with has no idea and is not um well versed. They do have the persons contact info who sold it, I recommended they contact him maybe they can shed some light on this rifle and the actually cartridge/caliber? Something tells me this may not happen so it’s gonna be a gamble.
Sounds like they would take 2k then, and even less of a gamble

I don't think so. What if that action is the shorter model that only holds a standard length cartridge like a 416 Remington? That makes the action nothing special at all and worth a lot less than a full magnum action compatible with 416 Rigby.

Caveat emptor cannot be emphasized enough.

It looks like a Bauska BBK-02 action to me.
It looks like a project of a student at a gunsmithing school trying to illuminate his skills – which are not quite refined. I bet if @buckstix was in a buying mode, as compared to selling, he would consider it. And likely be able to figure out its lineage/builder.

Yes, @buckstix would do a complete forensics analysis or investigation into this rifle if he were to buy it. Lots of conflicting information listed.

Without any further clarification, I wouldn’t pay more than half of the asking price, perhaps less but I’m not interested in a potential project rifle either.

I told the clerk that rifle is going to sit there indefinitely until they figure what it is exactly or significantly lower the asking price.

Well, it pretty much looks like a re-barrelled standard CZ .. either in 416 Rigby, or 416 Dakota .. if its a 416 Rigby, it would be fun ... if its 416 Dakota, not so much. if it was half the asking price I would consider it ... and by-the-way ... I am still buying even though I'm passing on nearly 300 of my treasured collectables. To make a point .. I Just bought a Holland & Holland Royal double rifle in 500-450 3.25 NE.

If someone were to call Parkwest and ask about the serial number this could close the case.

To be fair, I’ve never had a Mosin nagant really jam, as long as you load them right so the rims are in the right order it’s pretty reliable

Single stack magazine, right?

The SMLE double stack magazine is pretty flawless but wasn’t designed by a guy in his garage. To properly feed rimmed cartridges a magazine design must account for more factors than those for rimless cartridges.

The Lee-Enfield No. 4 were converted to 45-70 successfully but I can’t think of any other rimmed cartridges off hand.

that's one hell of a point to make!

A couple Left Hand Dakota rifles came across an email from a nearby gun store today. Not sure they pass as good/great gun deals, but if any lefty’s are looking.

Model 76 in 416 Rigby and Model 76 in 375 H&H

The store is County Attic Treasure in Lebanon Ohio if anyone is interested. I can also stop and look them over if desired.

tis mine I do have a price !

The advertisement states the seller is consigning on behalf of a now deceased friend. This rifle — or it’s twin / sibling — was just listed on this very forum whilst underneath a Cabela’s sale just a few months back. Interesting.
