Good Gun Deals This Week

I was in a Cabelas and a couple employees sitting in the gun library talking about some drillings they got in. Merkel's in 5.7 something or other. But then guy said he thought they were .30 calibers. Maybe a 22 Hornet.

I tried asking questions and got nowhere except frustrated.

Idiots....

And they could not show me because they were still going over the numbers......

Gave me pause that my heirs might sell any of my guns to such idiots....

I’ve been in some of those where the office door is open and their Roads Skollerz are assigning price tags to the new inventory. Most of it was laughable, some of it was favorable.

Eh fairly dog thing to do imo.
Naw, you bid that much you must be prepared to pay the price, and buckstix can’t read other bidders minds. Besides, couple other fellas continued the bidding war after buckstix dropped out after $8000, ended up $9278.

Yes, a sleeper jumped in at the end that really wanted it .. not sure what the big draw was ... must have been the caliber, 500 A-Square ..... I've decided that since I didn't get to add Brevex number 18, and since I have 17 Brevex Mausers in my collection, ... and of those, 6 are in 416 Rigby caliber .... I'm going to have one of the 416s re-barrelled to 500 A-Square caliber. That might make it worth 4 times what I paid for it. :D

I was surfing around & saw a Sako AV Mannlicher chambered in 416 Rem Mag. It had a starting price of $1,195 with a Buy It Now of $1,495. From the closeup photos, it looked like it was in really good shape. As a leftie, it was of no use to me. But because it was a configuration I hadn't seen before, I decided to share it in case it was a combination that appealed to someone else. I doubt that many were made.

Good catch! Since I wasn't going to buy it, I didn't examine all of the small print like I would normally do. I just knew it was an unusual combination (i.e. A Mannlicher 416) & I guess that explains why.

That is a beautiful collection! I really like that Dumoulin. I have to save up and get one someday. After a 9.3x62 and a 318 WR.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
