I was in a Cabelas and a couple employees sitting in the gun library talking about some drillings they got in. Merkel's in 5.7 something or other. But then guy said he thought they were .30 calibers. Maybe a 22 Hornet.
I tried asking questions and got nowhere except frustrated.
Idiots....
And they could not show me because they were still going over the numbers......
Gave me pause that my heirs might sell any of my guns to such idiots....

Hmmm…an identical one that previously sold at Hallowell & Co weighed 10 lb 3 oz. Best to double check weight but I suspect the person from Cabelas who typed that weight is in error. I have personally found that sometimes they can be lacking in technical knowledge but of course check and weigh before buying.
I agree but it has to be completely incorrect. I would check again. I would bet my farm 10-11 pounds

I wouldn't pay anything more than the going rate for a shooter Pre64 .375. It’s a molested Pre64 that someone tried to clone into a Super Grade. I’m curious to know if that’s an original super grade stock or one of the reproductions that are out there.
Was just going to say that is a shooter with a collector price tag.

Exactly, it’s priced to bridge the gap price wise between an original super grade (even a late post war gun), and a shooter Pre64 375 rifle. IMO to try and get the attention of someone who doesn’t know better. I’m sure they’ll say you gain value with the SG Bottom Metal and Stock (if original) but you really don’t because you loose value but it not being in its original configuration. I’d take an 70-80% Super Grade all day over someone’s cobbled together 95 or 98% condition clone.
Just like you don’t pay the same for a 69 GTO Judge as you would for a Lemans that’s been turned into GTO Judge Clone.
