Good deal on Leupold Vx6 Patrol 1-6 FireDot Euro Optic

Thanks to this post, i picked up two blem leupold hd5-cds2 2-10x42s with illum red dot which is exactly the scope ive been waiting to buy for two of my 375h&h mag rifles. usually i check midwayusa in early december for their blem deals but this deal is fantastic! thanks for sharing the original post @Mark Biggerstaff!

Received mine and there's a blue O-ring wadded up in the battery compartment. Is this supposed to go around the perimeter of the battery compartment behind the gold springs? Also, the supplied snap covers don't fit the diopter- bummer; objective works fine.

They are still showing in stock at the same price. I'm thinking of picking up another as the scope I bought for my 375 A-Bolt project gun may not mount unless I go with a full Pic rail, which I don't mind. We'll see.

Leupold really dropped the ball on this scope when they marketed to the tactical shooter. They should have sold it as the best Dangerous game scope they had ever made! They should have also made a version with the German No4 reticle!

Swung into the store just now @EuroOptic . Wow! What a nice store and staff. Picked up this scope (what a bargain!) for my .338 and a new SKB case for May. My old pelican has been pounded from the last 20 years of travel.

I’d rather go to this store than Cabelas. Very worth the drive.

Love to hear it!

I looked at the Leupold website- It appears the scope was replaced by one that is virtually identical EXCEPT that it has a trajectory adjustable elevation knob. the idea of using a rifle/scope combination that would benefit from trajectory compensation seems a bit over-engineered. Mine is on a Trumbull Ruger #1 475 Turnbull (similar to 348 Win wildcats) and the idea of shooting at something beyond 200 yards is not in my playbook.

Darn, I just bought one on Optics Planet for over $1300

Out of the box and onto the rifle

Thanks Mark, ordered mine LOL. I’d even heard about this deal from @Houston Bill and at the time thought I didn’t ‘need’ one. Then I read this thread and decided I couldn’t pass up such a great deal! Whoever said this site is a bunch of enablers wasn’t wrong!

Yesterday afternoon after reading this thread, I saw this scope with the 50 percent discount on EuroOptic’s website. As usual, I procrastinated buying one. Later in the evening, I didn’t see it on their website any longer. But, when I used the link in this thread to their website, I was able to order one and it’s now shipped. Better later than never and lucky than smart in my case this time. Thanks Mark for the heads up!

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
