Hi Tom Thank you for the question. The can be done with bow, this will be a great opportunity for a bow hunter to hunt a great trophy. We do have exemption for the Giraffe and we are permitted to use a Bow and Arrow. Minimum legal requirement will be 80lb.
I believe I'll join Bossie in South Africa for an old stink bull & a few more critters on my first trip into the Limpopo. I'll see you in 4 weeks, Bossie. I'm still hoping Tom will join us. Wish me luck fellows. It should be a blast!
Awesome! Good luck! I wished I'd have taken a giraffe on my trip but just couldn't talk myself into it even though the price was spectacular. Would have been a beautiful and large rug. (not sure how durable they are as rugs but I wouldn't have walked on it anyway.)
I have one flat skin from an old bull I shot in Botswana, but I haven't received it yet. I hope to soon though. I'll do the same with the next one I get I believe.
Jeff will be joining me in the next couple of weeks, what started of as a Giraffe hunt has evolved in a hunt that's going to more fun than anything else.
We'll be hunting in just 3 weeks! I'm pretty stoked already. Bossie seems to know how to have fun with it too Brick, and I'm looking forward to a great time in a new area for me, hunting mostly what are new critters for me as well. Ticktock, ticktock ...

We put him in the salt today guys. I got here a bit late due to some flight cancellations and delays, but Bossie took me out the first evening and I got my first Bushbuck. The following morning I shot an very old Warthog sow with Bossie's crossbow for badger bait and that afternoon took my biggest Blue Wildebeest yet. Today we chased the Giraffe via spot and stalk with the crossbow until we decided that my long wish list of Limpopo game animals was more important to us than nailing the beast with the crossbow, so out came the 416 Rigby and that was all she wrote. The bull is everything I ever wished for in a big old dark stink bull and we had a lot of fun wearing ourselves out hunting it. Tomorrow we go after my first Nyala.
