Free Booze and Food! January 10th, 2026

I will be there...3rd or 4th time for me. Always a great time with lots of good conversations. I've never left hungry!

The door prize stash continues to grow…

T-shirts and caps courtesy of @Mark Biggerstaff

Thanks Mark!

I mentioned in an earlier post that @Mountainshadows is a magician knife maker and offered a sidebar that his leather is exceptional as well...

we'll have a little table set up somewhere at the party where you can peruse some of his wares... he just made this cartridge slide for my wifes 375 H&H double... (a few other TTHA vendors might also have a little display set up somewhere around the house)..

I own leather from Murray, Trader Keith, and Els... This is on par or exceeds all of the above.. and like his knives, he charges WAY TOO LITTLE for his work (wont get into pricing.. but.. its cheaper than 2 of those listed..)... For hand crafted, exceptional leather hunting goods, he's ridiculously well priced..

I wish I was a magician @mdwest . I do strive for perfection but fall short all too often. Thank you for the kind mention.

I just noticed this thread. I have a few things ready for you. I’m going to try to get one more thing done to send your way, but time is creeping up on the tenth pretty fast.

Sorry for the slow response… was traveling last week (attending a graduation at LSU) and then traveling again this week for Christmas…

Thanks for supporting the party! Wish you could make it down yourself. It looks like we’re going to have a great crowd this year. A friend from New Zealand just verified this morning that he’s coming in for TTHA and will be attending the party.. I know of at least a few other South Africans in addition to the Bos en Dal crowd coming in… and then all of the usual suspects from AH…

We’ll definitely show off your wares to the group… please feel free to include some business cards or other contact info… I’m going to guess there will be some party goers wanting to”stuff” after seeing it :)

Door prizes continue to pile up...

the new Streamlight Stinger 2020 (about a $150 light I believe..) is up for grabs for a lucky party attendee..

thanks to Ronnie at R&M Firearms in El Campo.. Theyve always taken really good care of us at these parties... We're super appreciative of their support!

A few more things to follow on Monday once I get back home (we're traveling this week) and I have better access to the laptop and the internet...

This might end up being the best door prize year to date.. Im thinking at this point just about everyone that walks through the door will leave with something :)

More R&M donations to the door prize pile...

we have several Hoppe's Air Vaults up for grabs!

also several sets of knife sharpening wheels have been donated.. FWIW, these are the exact same wheels I use to put a final edge on the knives I make.. I also use them for re-sharpening when I get a particularly dull blade.. they are awesome..

Thanks Ronnie / R&M Firearms! :)

and now a door prize for all of the AR lovers in the house...

CMC single stage drop in cassette trigger (3.5lbs)... donated by @cash_tx ... Thanks Clint!

There are still a few more packages of cool give away items inbound.. Im honestly starting to get jealous.. I might wear a fake beard and glasses or something and try to pass myself off as a party goer just so I can pull a door prize ticket this year lol..

We have some pretty incredible leather workers here on AH… I can see myself getting a few new slings, belts, ammo slides, and maybe a rifle case or two in my near future..

@CM McKenzie has donated an absolutely awesome looking mousepad…

And two .375 h&h ammo slides…

If you guys aren’t careful some of this stuff might disappear before the 10th… I’m definitely getting jealous now… :D

You are way too generous Casey. Thank you so much for supporting our AH gathering!

just got a super cool add-on donated to the door prize pile..

JS Taxidermy will provide up to $1200 in taxidermy work to whoever wins the Bos en Dal hunt that is being given away...

JS has done taxidermy work for me twice.. our most recent blackwildebeest, my wifes copper springbok, and our daughters red hartebeest shoulder mounts were all done by them this year as well as my daughters wildebeest euro.. .they do very good work... they also did my cape buff euro and several other mounts in the house.. Ive been very pleased with them..

and.. who doesnt like FREE???

their shop is just a few miles down the road from Bos en Dal, so if youre the lucky grand prize winner and walk away with the hunt that Bos en Dal has donated, you can swing by their shop while youre in camp and check out their work..

That is so cool and great!!
JS has done all my dip pack and mounts I have hanging in Bos en Dal Lodge that I didn’t export. Jan and Karen are great people.

We now have over 50 that have RSVP’d, and the list continues to grow. It’s possible we’ll actually exceed our largest event (65) at this point.

Many of you have attended before and know the drill…

For those of you that haven’t.., I live in a subdivision.. parking isn’t optimum…

If possible I strongly recommend carpooling with others, or using a ride share like uber or Lyft…

You’re welcome to come and get here any way you can… but you might find yourself parking a couple of blocks over from the house if you get here anytime after the doors open…

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!

Will there be a shuttle or tram service available for those parking blocks away?

I thought you were bringing one of those backpack things and providing rides?

You’re not backing out now are you????

:D

This being the 3rd time for me. I will be using Uber from the hotel. Parking can be limited like Dave has said, and after the libations and food who wants to drive.

More door prizes!

Thank you to @BigSky2212 for some fabulous framed photos from Yellowstone!

Theres a total of 4 framed pics and 7 unframed up for grabs of some incredible scenes of wolves, bear, and bison captured in the national park..

Michele Pics.jpg

my pic of the pics really dont do them justice... youve got to see them in person to appreciate the quality.. ready to go into anyones trophy room, cabin, man cave, etc..

theres a pic of a wolf on a kill in the stack that is remarkable.. you'll have to wait until the party to see that one :)

Reading this I am tempted to look at flights from Germany to the US ! Simply wonderful. One day we hope to get over for some of the shows and side events but until then its the European / Germany shows ....

Hope you guys all have a blast !!!
