For the Weatherby fans...Did you see this?

I remember the days when I wanted a Weatherby in every one of their calibers. Never had one. This advertisement made me look again. The DGR and Frontier rifles look neat. I think it will be another cartridge introduction in both of those rifles.

DGRs are back. That's cool. I had a 416 Rem DGR a long time ago. Was a good rifle.

I always liked the mark v.

Now that I'm looking again, I think it might be an announcement of the DGR and Frontier that are already showing on the website? $4k and $5k standard production Weatherby DGR rifles. They look good to me except for the cookie-cutter NECG iron sights. For that money, I want a custom full rib with a better sight and something beefier up front.

The DGR’s never went away, just made to order. Son had a 460WBY with synthetic stock made this summer.

Maybe they will make it in a .404 J or a .425 WR. Lol
What about giving the 378/416/460 Mags the RPM or the RSM treatment or similar? I can see them redesigning the 378 by removing the belt and shortening the case to jump into the RSM ring, even though it seems the RSMs are becoming less popular. Could they do this and retain the double radius? It would still headspace, right?

Maybe,Adam seems to be doing allot of stuff that wasn’t what the company was known for or what his Grandfather did. Marketing to the New

I think that is what it was. Those guns were not listed on the website this morning when I looked.

I think it’s great to see someone getting back in the DG market.

My dad hunted with a mark V in .300wby for many years. It’s a great rifle that served us well on many trips to Africa, Canada, Alaska and more.

I’m probably going to pick up a new .375 in the semi near future. I will definitely be giving the weatherby a closer look.

I would like to see them offer them in 416 Remington magnum, 416 Rigby, 458 lott, and 470 Capstick!

Due to the poor reputation of their three proprietary DG cartridges, Weatherby will be forced to do this if they want to sell DG rifles.

I might be in the minority on this, but I don't get the hype about Weatherby. I'm not a big fan of the way their rifles feel in my hands and when shouldered. Aesthetically many of them don't look great. I have had friends with more than a few that had accuracy issues. And the proprietary cartridges that cost a fortune compared to similar chamberings are a turn off to me.

The same friends that have had issues with them keep buying more of them. So they seem to have a hold on some people, I assume for nostalgia reasons. But I could be missing something.

Like others, I'm happy to see a company dedicated to DG rifles. That said, it's like having an AMX Javelin when you really wanted a GTO. It's still a muscle car, but it just doesn't look right.

I wonder if this means they'll re-release the Vanguard dangerous game rifles as well. I'd be interested in one of those in particular if the released one in .375 weatherby

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
