For Sale Zastava LK M70 9.3X62mm Right Hand Rifle

No argument from me. I love their rifles but can not say the same for their cars.

How are the M70s different than the Interarms Mark X? The Mark X does have a forward receiver crossbolt. Everything else looks similar?

A quick glance just now at a few of my Interarms Mark X and Whiworth rifles in .243 Winchester, .270 Winchester, and .30-06 Springfield as well as my Remington 798 rebarreled to .338-06 reveals none of those rifles in my posession have a forward receiver crossbolt, and it's notable none of those chamberings are Magnum cartridges (nor is the rifle offered for sale in this listing). @CoElkHunter, what cartridges are your Interarms Mark X rifles with a forward receiver crossbolt chambered for?

The short answer from what I can see is not much. This rifle has an oil finished walnut stock as noted in the listing, and my Interarms Mark X and Whitworth rifles have some sort of polymer (urethane) finish on their walnut stocks. My Remington 798 has a laminated wood stock with some sort of polymer finish. The variety of available chamberings is broader for the Zastava brand rifles. For example, 7mm-08 Remington didn't become an official SAAMI / CIP recognized cartridge prior to 1980. And of course, the brand name the rifle is stamped and sold under.

IMO, the Fiat vehicle design manufactured under license in former Yugoslavia was a significant step above the Trabant, manufactured in East Germany under Communist, and Stalinist, leadership. I also think it's a significant step up from the Renault Le Car a roommate of mine in the early 1980's owned.

One thing I really don't understand is why when Toby458 sold a similar rifle, nothing about vehicles was dragged into his classified ad, with some dislike of a motor vehicle having exactly zero relevance to this rifle. So why me? I'm honestly curious. Especially without any honest interest in purchasing this rifle.

First, you are right. The Le Car was probably worse than the Yugo. I had a college roommate that drove one as well and it certainly was not better. Secondly, I apologize for my part in polluting your post with what is really unrelated comment on a vehicle. It is a fantastic rifle at a great price and I will bow out with that.

Maybe they only included the crossbolt in the magnums? I have a Whitworth Safari in .375 with the single forward crossbolt. All of the .375s and .458WM models I have seen, have the crossbolt. My other one is a custom Whitworth in .416 Taylor, which doesn’t count because the stock has been replaced and has two crossbolts.

I suspect that crossbolt is only present from the factory in the Interarms Mark X / Whiworthrifles chambered in .375 & .458 Magnum cartridges. These rifles in 7mm Remington Magnum and .300 Winchester Magnum have stocks that appear to me to probably be the ones they wore from the manufacturer (semi-gloss finish, some have white line spacers, etc.) and none of these have that crossbolt.

Hopefully the lack of this crossbolt in my 9.3X62mm rifle for sale in this thread, most likely due to this rifle not being chambered in a. 375 or .458 Magnum cartridge, doesn't diminish your or anyone else's interest in potentially purchasing this rifle. It's also a traditional African hunting cartridge, developed in Africa by a man living in Africa named Otto Bock in 1905.

Especially with the recent news of production of the CZ 550 action ceasing, I'm hoping my rifle catches someone's interest in purchasing this rifle to use for hunting.

I'm no expert, but the two position slide style safety that eliminates any clearance issues if a scope is mounted to this rifle looks similar to the safety I see on rifles with the Sako 85 action. This rifle's barrel has a rifling twist rate of 1:14 inches, common for rifles chambered for this cartridge, as hopefully helpful additional detailed info for interested potential purchasers.

Yes, it’s a well built rifle and I too wouldn’t worry about it not having a crossbolt. If someone wanted a crossbolt, I’m sure a reputable gunsmith could install one (or two) without breaking one’s budget?

Also found this Whitworth in .300 Winchester Magnum with no crossbolt, so it appears a common manufacturing philosophy was used in Interarms Mark X, Zastava, and Whitworth bolt action rifles with regard to inclusion of a crossbolt.

That .300 mag is custom stocked. The only ones I have seen with the cross bolt are the 2 big mags. My Whitworth .375 has it. I wonder have you had your 9.3 apart to see if it has any factory bedding?
Also would like to apologize for the thread drift in odd directions.

No, I have not taken this rifle apart. The only thing I've done is installed the bolt for these pictures, and I removed the bolt after taking these pictures while putting the rifle back in the box.

I appreciate the efforts to put this classified ad back on track.

I'll leave this ad open on this forum for a while longer before I create a Gunbroker.com listing to sell this rifle as I think some future right handed member will come along that will want to purchase this rifle. A left handed Zastava 9.3X62mm rifle is currently listed on Gunbroker.com for $779 minimum bid, $800 for BuyItNow. I purchased this rifle I'm offering for sale from that seller in 2019. This rifle has that seller's import mark stamped on the underside of the barrel near the stock.

Beautiful rifle for a great price!

I ended up selling mine on Gunbroker. The guy wanted me to let him do a layaway, so I was able to get my full buy it now price. Then he was late on payment, so he paid an extra $50. So I actually ended up breaking even on my sale! (Huge accomplishment for selling a used rifle, that was bought new.)

Congrats Toby458. I believe the rifle you purchased and subsequently sold on Gunbroker, had also been purchased through Greene Sporting as the importer. Greene Sporting hasn't offered right hand versions of this rifle in 9.3X62mm in a while. I believe the news regarding Zastava Arms USA becoming the exclusive US importer for Zastava firearms has cut off his availability to continue to import these rifles as long as that arrangement is in place. Zastava Arms USA doesn't even have 9.3X62mm in the list of planned imports at this point, and no ideas if it will be added at any point in the future.

My current asking price is discounted to my purchase price. I don't expect to break even with my purchase price, and I'm honestly not interested in providing lay-away.

The bright side of these side discussions is how they keep bumping this classified ad listing up!

Shoot if I wasn’t in full on save mode for an Africa trip I’d buy this gun. I have really started to like the 9.3 cartridge family. I have a double in 9.3x74R and this rifle would complement it well. I dig it, I’d be shocked if it didn’t sell at asking price as it’s a fantastic value.

I think enough time has elapsed to not violate decorum by giving my ad a bump.

There's a right handed rifle like this, in box, currently listed on Gunbroker.com with $800 minimum bid and $1000 BuyItNow!, advertised as NOS found in an out of business gun shop. So I know my price is reasonable, it just needs the right purchaser at the right point in time.

Yes it is. Send a SMS text capable phone number to me via PM for further discussion.

Hope you get it sold...great calibre in what I have heard is a solid working type rifle.....I can't believe how when people put a rifle for sale on here the rambling bullshit that quite often appears..... :E Shake Head:
