I have an extremely nice Cogswell & Harrison Magazine Rifle in 404 Jeffery for sale. According to Cogswell, this rifle was made in 1949. It was made on the super strong Enfield P-14 action (cocks on close) and mercifully has made it through life without having a scope mount bolted to it. I would guess that it was refinished at some point in time but it was very well done, if so. I believe that these type of rifles were used by the Game Departments in Zambia and Rhodesia. However, this rifle is in excellent shape with a mint bore and barrel, not an old used and abused gun. Overall this is just a super clean and legitimate London made vintage British 404 Jeffery Dangerous Game Rifle.

Features include:
Hooded front sight, rear sight with one standing (100 yds), and two folding (200 and 300 yds) leaves, beautiful wood stock with recoil lugs, horn grip cap, sling studs, silvers recoil pad, thumb cutout in the action for quick reloads in a dangerous situation, alloy box magazine and triggerguard, silvers recoil pad, gold stock oval (not engraved).

Specifications:
Weight: 8 lbs, 13 oz
Barrel length: 25"
LOP: 14-5/8"

Price is $4,750 plus $75 shipping (US only and only where allowed). Please PM me with questions. Thanks

Interesting, didn't know they used Enfield actions for some rifles.

After the war it was about all that was available to such firms. No worries, though, for it is an excellent action (and that it cocks on closing, an extra bonus).

I am SHOCKED that this hasn't been snatched up by now!

For the price of a basic PG hunt you can own a true London classic rifle in the best African caliber....Just Wow!

Thanks for all of the kind words guys. I was hoping that this rifle could go to one of the hunters and collectors on this forum. This would make a great DGR for someone.

Beautiful rifle

Beautiful gun if I wasn’t selling my C&H double I would be trying to buy this.

Shocked that this rifle is still available. If I didn't have a kid entering college I'd be all over it.

Thanks CT. Honestly, I am a bit surprised too. I went ahead and advertised it elsewhere as well as I wanted to give the group here first shot for a period of time

BTT. I am a little surprised that I still own this. Reasonable offers will be considered. Thanks!

Wow, what a beautiful rifle in great condition!

Rifle is SPF. Thanks!
