For Sale Interarms Mark X Alakan 458 Winchester

Up for sale is a nice 458 Win. Mag. in very good condition. Commercial Mauser action. A great big bore for Africa or the big bears. There are a some marks in the wood but nothing major.

24 inch barrel 13 3/4 LOP. Weight is approx. 8 1/4 pound naked. Receiver is drilled & tapped. No rust or dings in the metal. The rifle has been glass bedded from the front of the receiver to forward of the secondary recoil lug. Nicely done job. There are a few tiny marks on the bottom metal and a couple on the side of the claw extractor. All are very minor . All in all a very nice rifle. Receiver is marked "Interarms with Alexandria, VA to the left and Manchester England on the right. I can

Any idea what the differences are between the normal Mark X and the Mark X Alaskan?

I really don't know but I think the Alaskan may have a nicer stock with the forend tip and was only available in 375 H&H and 458 Win. mag. Hopefully someone who knows more about these guns will share their knowledge.

Believe mostly it was as you listed, the bedded second lug and two large calibers. Many in the X series had black fore end tips. Wood is the same thruout the MkX series, hit or miss except the Whitworth's which used mostly a different type of walnut.
That is a nice Alaskan and probably less common than the Whitworth rifle. GLWS
