Fly fishing for trout in the Drakensberg Mountains

Wondering if anyone has fly fished for trout in the Drakensbergs? My PH said there is good trout fishing in the area we're hunting and there may be some opportunities, but he isn't a fisherman. Appreciate any advice on flies, techniques etc. I'll be there in early July. Thank you

I truly enjoyed fly fishing for trout around Rhodes. There are some excellent guides and absolute masters that fish the area.
Sadly, the government decided to remove "alien species" trees along many of the rivers in the area. It did not help the streams stay cool.

Thanks guys. As I understand it, our camp will be on or very near to a decent trout stream so this would a few casts at lunch break if we're at camp or evenings after hunting. I've got a great little Orvis 4 wt travel rod to bring along so we'll see what happens.

Have spent many a day fishing the streams & rivers around the Drakensbergs. Some outstanding fly fishing for browns & bows. A 4 wt & a floating line with a 9 ft leader will work fine. Typical dries - Griffiths Gnat, Coachmans, Royal Wulffs, Klinkhammers & then PTs, Hare & Copper, Montanas & buzzers all work well. Enjoy!
