A list of what animals you'll be pursuing would be beneficial. But a few initial tips:
1. Practice your shooting early and often, especially if you've not been shooting in quite sometime.
2. Once you have the load you're certain you'll be using and sighted in on the bench, move your practice to using shooting sticks. You can buy a pair like BogPod offers or make you're own.
3. Laundry is done daily, so you need not go and buy a bunch of clothes. You need 2 sets of hunting clothes minimum and in my opinion 3 maximum. The 3rd set for a just in case scenario. Outside of a good pair of boots, you don't need a bunch of expensive clothes. So spend money on a decent pair of boots only. Even the boots don't need to be really high end.
4. If you've not made your travel plans, keep checking the travel websites for deals as you never know when they'll occur. You're within the window of being able to book your flights now.
5. Enjoy the planning, don't let it be a burden. While traveling for a hunt has its steps, it's not that difficult either.
6. Continue being active on AH and ask any and all questions. We're a pretty friendly lot around here and are very willing to help. So beginner questions are quite welcome.
That's it for now, being called to breakfast.
