Looking for recommendations on a family safari package for 4. My wife and I have hunted Africa before, but this will be our kids’ first trip over. They’ll be 11 and 12 at the time of the hunt.

We’re pretty open on species and setup, but currently leaning toward South Africa or Namibia. We’re targeting summer 2027 so we have time to plan and book the right trip.

Priorities are a family-friendly operation, good accommodations, solid experience for younger hunters, and an outfitter that can put together a package that makes sense for first-time youth hunters.

Would appreciate recommendations for outfitters, areas, packages, or things we should be considering with kids that age. Thanks!

Highly recommend check with Gerrit at Bos en Dal Safaris. Family oriented business, family run operation, you will be the only ones in camp. Northwest Province. 2.5 hr drive from JNB. No overnight needed. Close to parks and elephant sanctuary for tours.

Africa Hunt Lodge. Great folks. Very nice accommodations.

Benni osmer at Klipveld lodge. We just got back from our second trip. Very family oriented. He really spends a lot of time with the kids. This past trip a family came along and neither had hunted before but were up for the adventure. He has an affinity for catching things and showing the kids and explaining different characteristics about the animals.

I cannot recommend Benni enough.
