Fake news alert: How the truth on Namibia’s successful Community Wildlife Conservation was twisted. On February 26, 2019 Mongabay.com published an article called “It pays, but does it stay? Hunting in Namibia’s community conservation system” written by John Grobler, complete with photos, graphs, statistics and even a video. What they leave out is this is an editorial, not a fact based non-biased new article. Along with the blatant omission of the word “editorial”, they leave out who paid for John’s time and what their published goals are. These are key facts to understanding the intent on this very incomplete one-sided story. Just to add.. Response from NCE to John Grobler's Assertions

It has come to our attention that Mr John Grobler has once again attacked Namibia’s conservation approach by making personal allegations against some of the individuals who have dedicated their careers to promoting good conservation in Namibia. We do not engage in personal counter-attacks or respond in an undignified manner. Our purpose here is to set the record straight for those who might not be aware of the true situation, and that includes Mr John Grobler. It is clear from this long list of corrections that little effort was spent in verifying facts and being concerned about the truth. It would have been so easy for John Grobler to pick up the phone, or visit people in their offices to verify information. That is not his modus operandi. Anti-establishment conspiracy thinking makes for far better sensational writing on social media. One cannot help question the “investigative journalist” title.

Another good example of "My mind is made up. Don't confuse me with facts." Too many facts dilute the sensationalism of fake news. Quite obvious that Grobler did a substantial amount of assumption and wishful thinking.
