Addo Elephant Park
We can take a breather during the safari, by providing a trip to a nearby game reserve. You would have the option of visiting a privately owned Big 5 game reserve which is a 1h30 minutes drive away from our Lodge or a trip to the famous Addo Elephant National Park near Port Elizabeth. This is approximately one and half hour’s drive from the Lodge and is a state owned Game Reserve. This would be the most cost effective choice for the whole family.

An elephant ride can be arranged within close proximity to Addo Elephant Park.

Fishing

We also offer fishing charters which is mainly bottom/reef fishing. This is done off-shore from a fully equipt sea going vessel, where species such as the Black Steenbras, Kob, Geelbek, Copper Steenbras, Red fish and Sharks can be caught.

Our fishing charters are conducted from Port Alfred a small town approximately 1 hours drive from our lodge. This area is home to some of the best off shore fishing in the Eastern Cape. We can follow up the fishing with a delightful seafood meal at one of the restaurants in Port Alfred. South Africa is known for its traditional wines and seafood and they could be tested in the warm hospitality of the Eastern Cape.

This day trip could provide a relaxing break before continuing with your hunting safari.

River Cruise

A leisurely cruise up the Kariega River is followed by a three hour game drive and a delicious cold buffet lunch on the banks of the river. A slow cruise back to Kenton-on-Sea as the sun sets is a fitting end to a wonderful experience with nature. Bespoke packages can be arranged for birders, year-end functions and other celebrations.

Horse Riding

Adventurous horse riding and hiking trails down steep dunes onto secluded beaches, and through shady dune forests with stunning views out to sea. Follow tracks along the river, across wetlands and through open farmland.

Local Towns
Grahamstown forms part of the popular Frontier Country route - so named because it was literally the 19th century frontier between the British Cape Colony and the Xhosa territories. It was the scene of first contact, cultural clashes, confusion and, inevitably, conflict. Much of what happened here set the tone for South Africa's turbulent multi-cultural history.

Port Alfred boasts not only the climate, the water, the beaches and the historical connections, but we have stepped into the modern world with top-class shopping malls, sophisticated healthcare, a Royal golf course, intimate small-boat harbour, light industry, international hospitality university and 43 Air School, a world-class training facility for pilots and air traffic controllers.

They also have the stunning Royal Alfred Marina - one of few in the world where every home owner enjoys private water frontage and a personal jetty! Visitors can enjoy boat cruises through the Marina canals and if you feel energetic you can hire a water pedalo or canoe to make the trip.

About Game 4 Africa Hunting
The Eastern Cape of South Africa is where we base of our hunting safaris. We were born and raised in the Eastern Cape, and are passionate about the bush. This Malaria Free area offers a diverse combination of landscapes, vegetation and wildlife, together making it a unique hunting destination for the first time and repetitive hunter.

Whether it is your first hunting safari, or a big five hunt, or the choice of plenty of different plains game species, we can cater for your every need.

The Fish River area between the historic towns of Fort Beaufort and Grahamstown presents a unique hunting experience. The variety of habitat found in this area ranges from steep mountainous areas (elevation about 1000 feet) to deep riverine valleys and open grass plains. The uniqueness and size of our concession areas make each day a new experience. Due to our excellent relationship with surrounding landowners we have access to more than 250 000 acres of additional surrounding hunting areas.

Game 4 Africa safaris are in the middle of the hunting Mecca in the Eastern Cape. We strive to find the best quality trophy animals possible, and it is for this reason that we do not offer any package hunts. It is our goal as professional hunters to ensure fair chase and good quality of trophies.

Our method of hunting is to spot, walk and stalk. We drive to various look out spots where we will glass for any animals. These vantage points allow us to get an eagle-eye view in our pursuit of trophy animals. Once a mature animal has been identified, the hunter with his guide will pursue the target animal by foot. Once the distance has been narrowed to an acceptable range, the hunter will get a rest on shooting sticks before taking a shot. This will be done in his own time upon the animal presenting a clear and unhurried shot.

Game 4 Africa Safaris runs big game safaris in South Africa. With good numbers of Buffalo and Rhino in the Eastern Cape - we are hunting more and more of these incredible animals right on our doorstep. Other big game such as lion is hunted up in the northern part of South Africa close to the Botswana border. Big lions are found in this area each year. This type of lion hunting is exciting and challenging as we follow tracks to get close and give our clients an unforgettable hunt and experience.

Great photos and descriptions of your operation Wik. You forgot to mention the really nice Sako rifles with Swarovski scopes you have for rental rifles. Really makes traveling easier.

All the best to you,
Dave

Comfortable looking lodge sir.

Some great hunting for $$$$. Kudu heaven for sure!

Wik all these pics and reports have me super excited! See you in September!

Wik,

Looking at the photos of @pennsport and his amazing harvest of 7 kudu has got me to thinking. When I was a kid growing up in Washington state in the early 70s, there was a really good quarterback at the University of Washington by the name of Sonny Sixkiller. The legend behind his Cherokee Indian name was an ancestor once killed 6 buffalo. It seems appropriate to me that @pennsport should be known as "Sevenkiller." If he comes back for another hunt and takes 7 more kudu, then his signature sundowner should be........................a 7&7 of course.
