I continue to be astounded that people who by all appearances (this seems to be game viewing vehicle) should know better intentionally put themselves into dangerous situations. This was a family group of elephants with mothers and calves. It's only to be expected that at some point, one of them would get upset at the vehicle or the smell of humans. They were not anywhere near a safe distance.
The usual result of this sort of foolishness is that people are injured or killed, or animals are, or both. If you act in such a way as to induce a charge, and then you have to kill the elephant in defence of human life, should you be thanked?
