Educate me please-- how to load over 100 percent into the case

Most rifles, especially custom builds will allow you to seat the bullet out further than sammi COAL specs.

This also helps with less compression on loads. Just make sure it fits in the magazine and chambers without jamming the lands.

To get load density of over 100% the easiest way is to use a powder funnel with an extended tube usually 4-6" and trickle the powder in slowly to allow it to settle better.
I personally use a 2 foot drop tube for the purpose.
This only works on stick powders as it allows them to settle and pack into the case better.

For my black powder cartridges I have a couple of brass drop tubes that are 3 foot long. I made them from hobby store tube and sheet copper for the funnel.

The case is loaded with powder all the way into the bullet seat space (neck) and compressed by seating the bullet.
@Schüler Jumbo
Some loads will fill the case even with 95% of the max load.
For example my mate Greg loads 130 grainers into his 308 lapua cases with 2208/Varget.
The max load is 50 grains.
Greg gets 46 grains in his case and the case is full to the top of the mouth and loads are compressed. Even using a drop tube funnel he only gets 48 grains to the mouth of the case.

For my son's 308 I use Federal premium cases.
These cases hold the full 50gn to the case mouth but by using a drop tube that same load settles to the shoulder and no compressed loads.

So what is a full load in one case may be a lower load density in another case or as noted may not even fit in another case.
When loading it pays to know your case capacity and ALWAYS work up loads from the MINIMUM load. Also never mix different brands of cases when doing load development.
100% plus load density is doable without causing issues but requires a different loading technique and can be done safely.

Good morning from Montana.

I'm looking at a post from 2018 where you were looking for a lefty Winchester in .375 H&H Magnum. I'm selling mine. My email is [redacted] in the event that you're still searching for a unicorn.

Best,

Kelly Palmer
