The way I read the title of this thread at first was that this would be a dismal review of River Armory!

Sorry- can't help, no experience with them.

I have purchased at least two firearms from him over the last fifteen years or so, including the finest continental pigeon gun that I own. This one, built in the thirties, has won a lot of races and I am sure paid for itself a couple of times over.

Most listings are for first quality firearms. You will not find any steals, but you will find fair prices for guns exactly as described.

Do any of you guys know about the gunmaker Dave Caboth. I like what I have read so far and what I see in pictures. Not trying to undermine Dave Caboth work just don’t know anything about his work.

I would not hesitate about one of Dave’s rifles. Jesse Hoffman does some engraving for me and had a 416 in his shop; Dave built. Jesse was kind enough to let me play with this rifle. I know the rifle I handled to be from Dismal as well. If I did not already have a 416 I love; this rifle would be mine.

Thank you very much for this info.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
