This is a beautiful takedown rifle that was built by Fraser and serialed in their logbook...but finished and sold by H&H and also serialed to their logbook. So it's a Daniel Fraser action finished by Holland & Holland. Caliber is 360 Express 2 1/4”. Details are overflowing on this gun in very good condition. Cock on closing Mauser 95 action. Factory case is not original to this gun but in very good condition. No dies or brass available. Your dealer must be able to receive from an individual with a copy of my DL. $9500.

Beautiful rifle!
I see it has mounts for an optic, do you also have this in your possession?

Great question. Unfortunately no, the H&H style mounts were likely added later and the scope was separated from the gun before I found it. That happens way too often. I do know that JJ will build rings for it.

beautiful looking rifle

A nice looking rifle! I believe I saw this at Champlin earlier this year - Did you end up getting it from George? Have you fired it? or have targets/load data?

Yes I got it from George. I have not fired it due to other projects and load development.

I have a question about the calibre... as most of the 360's were rimmed, is this a 9.3x57 or something else ??

Roger

Barrel is marked 360 EX for 300 grain bullet. My dummy round consists of 360 Express 2 1/4" brass with 300 grain Swift 9.3 bullets. That feeds, chambers and extracts well on the bolt with no rub marks. I don't have 360 EX dies but that combo worked well with .38-55 dies, which are close to spec.

Just to clarify, are you using a rimmed or rimless case?....do you have a picture of the case ?

It's a rimless case and you can use .38-55 brass to get there. It's known by a few names....360 Express, 360 Nitro for Black, 360 Nitro Express 2 1/4, .360 miniature express, etc. It's the twin to this gun that Hallowell had. https://www.hallowellco.com/danl fraser 360.htm

I assume that if you are using 38-55 brass, you are turning the rims off to make them rimless.

I went back through my notes as it didn't sound quite right replying from memory. I used standard 303 British brass full length sized using .38-55 dies, seated a 300 grain 9.3 Swift to 2.88" OAL. That feeds well from the mag to chamber and extracts nicely without effort or rubbing.

That gets there the long way around the hill...but would be simplest with 360 EX 2 1/4" brass and dies to match of course.
