Grants made from the proceeds of Legacy 2018 will be well over $1 million

(Feb. 14, 2018 - DALLAS) -- With another successful Convention & Expo under its belt, DSC is doing a final tally of the numbers. Again, the show proved to be a successful joint effort of volunteers, exhibitors, donors, attendees, and others who work hard to produce The Greatest Hunters' Convention on the Planet™.
The Convention in early January, held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, welcomed more than 50,000 attendees. Membership is now at an all-time high of 6,339, and the show raised nearly $7.5 million which will fund grants that carry out DSC's mission and programs. This show is one of the city's largest.
Legacy Convention Chairs Scott and Debbie Tobermann said, "By all measures, we had another very successful convention − both for the club and for our exhibitors. This was one of the smoothest-running shows in recent memory."

The Tobermanns both agree: "Chairing the convention has been a hugely gratifying experience for us and being chosen to lead the mighty volunteer army we call the DSC100 is an honor we will always cherish."
DSC President Craig Nyhus said, "It was great to see people in the hunting community from all over the world. Despite challenges, we saw an increasingly positive outlook from our exhibitors and the people who attended the convention."

A special thanks goes to our corporate sponsors Sports Afield, Hornady, Bass Pro Shops, Zeiss, Midway USA, Boyt Harness Company, Trijicon, Inc., Wildlife Partners, Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., Blaser USA, Inc., Capital Farm Credit, Global Rescue, Michel Mantheakis Safaris, Ltd., OX Hunting Ranch, RAD RIDES, Rock Island Auction, Shikar Safaris, SIXSITE, Triple G McKinney Group, Veritex Bank, Lone Star Outdoor News, Alford Media, EarthRoamer, EuroOptic, Ltd., Lone Star Ag Credit, Nicholas Air, Ram, Swift Bullet Company, Vogt Silversmiths, Wild Hunting in Turkey, and Witherspoon Distillery.
Success by the numbers:
52,000+ Attendance
1,006 Exhibits
1,835 Exhibitors
658 Memberships processed (364 new)
$7.46 Million Dollars Raised
437 Volunteers

Funds raised by this show will be distributed to a number of grants that range from support of professional hunting associations and conservation organizations to restoration of pronghorn and big horn sheep to big cat research in Africa and many other projects around the globe. The total granted out this year will easily exceed $1 million.
