I know traffic on the site has a significant decline over the weekends, but it seems like I find myself short of time during the work week. The rifle is effectively as new. Has a couple tiny handling/safe marks. As stated, barreled in .375 H&H and .300 H&H (likely the most popular offering in the traveler). Wood is exceptionally grained and fore-ends match beautifully. This is an exceptional example and comes with a full sized Dakota case.

LOP is Dakota standard of 13 5/8”. Pad (in total) is 7/8”. Barrels are 21 3/4” to the action and 23 3/4” overall.

Beautifully color cased action, bottom metal etc. and Talley bases.

Here is the kicker—I disdain shipping guns. I am in the Austin, Texas area and usually make it to DFW/Houston/San Antonio every week.

Priced at $14,500 for pick up/delivery.

Ahh, that's the perfect caliber combo. 300 and 375 covers it ALL and that's a nice example.

I was just talking to Parkwest Arms last week at TTHA. They almost never have a takedown in stock as they all get sold quickly. Very popular model.

Great combo for Africa at a very reasonable price given the CCH upgrades and factory case.

Saw one that was hunted, without CCH sell this summer for a similar price.

Good guy to deal with. He is legit.
I would buy this right now if the LOP were 14 1/4" over the pad. Just too short for me at 13 5/8"

Understood. I contemplated switching to a 1.25" pad before listing, but figured I would leave everything unmolested. Thankfully it does have a slim pad from the factory for us long armed ogres. :-)

The Parkwest/Dakota traveler has become my latest obsession…

That is very nice, we had a member looking for something like that I think @LVD923 could be keen ?

Thanks to all. It is very nice. As I have stated to some here via pm, the set was represented to be unfired since the factory when I bought it. I did not list this in the description; however, by all I can discern I cannot establish anything to the contrary. Here is a picture of the bolt face.

Looks unfired

Will the new company make new barrels, different calibers. What is the cost ?

Good question. I don’t know if Parkwest would do so, but they list the cost of the second barrel/for-end as $3995 from (perhaps rusty) memory. I “built” this rifle on their page a while back and as close as I could tell to build the same today would be between around 22-23K.

What is somewhat unique about this offering is the incredible consistency between the forei-ends. While, I have never seen a poorly executed Traveler, I have seen several where the “second” forend does not flow very well with the stock grain. If you wanted to get a complete fore-end and new barrel made, I think even Parkwest would struggle to find a blank that flowed with the stock.

I can answer Jay's question since I talked to Parkwest in person last week at a show. Yes, they can build a 2nd barrel in the same cartridge family but the design is limited to 2 barrels. 3 barrels don't work so this beautiful gun is fully built and cannot be added to. Parkwest has a build engine with pricing on their website.

I agree that it is unfired.

Thank you for the answer. Why can’t a 3rd barrel be made for similar length ammo. Does accuracy suffer from chamber length and bullet jump difference between caliber

I asked the owner of Parkwest about that and he just said that's a limitation of the design. I didn't understand it myself but I have never seen a 3 barrel Dakota takedown and now I would be very suspect if there was one.

However, what can't be done with 300 H&H and 375 H&H in Africa? It covers everything. I keep looking at it because it actually matches up well with my Dakota 416 Rigby but I hope it sells quickly!

Be careful of hunting Chewore South, the area has been decimated.....

Curious about this. I hunted Chewore South with D&Y in September and they did tell me it was there last hunt there.

Which outfits shot it out?
