CZ 550 Safari Magnum .458 Winchester Magnum – For Sale

Rifle is a CZ 550 Safari Magnum in .458 Win Mag with a 25” barrel.
Gentry Quiet Muzzle Brake installed, and the thread-protective cap is included (pictured).
Trigger is set crisp at 4 lbs.

This rifle was professionally upgraded by Tim Ditmore at Matrix Gunsmithing.
Work included full glass bedding with aluminum pillars, installation of a 3-position safety, and his feed-cycle corrections.
(From Tim: “I will smooth out the feed ramp and make sure chambering is improved. The CZ 550 is problematic and sometimes requires the geometry in the follower to be adjusted.”)

The rifle feeds, chambers, and extracts properly.
Wood is in excellent condition with only minor handling marks from safe storage.

Included in the sale:
– 82–83 pieces of .458 Win Mag brass (pictured)
– RCBS 3-Die Steel Set (.458 Win Mag)
– 2 boxes of Federal Premium Safari ammunition (pictured)

Price is $3,000 OBO for everything.
Buyer pays actual shipping to FFL only.

Rifle is located in Arizona.

Any questions, let me know.

Shocked @krish has not purchased this rifle yet...!

Is that the original CZ 2 Position safety ?

No That is an upgraded Three position saftey by Tim Ditmore at Matrix Gunsmithing.

I meant to say most CZ stocks. This one has great wood. And $2000 in upgrades.
Many bemoan that AHR isn’t doing these CZ upgrades any longer. And here one sits at a great price.

I’m set in .458 and I’m still tempted.

If it was a AHR mod the bolt knob would be filled. Matrix not doing all AHR did

Looks like bolt knob is filled and turned down as well from photos. Really nice wood and with the upgrades this is an excellent price, I’m tempted as well just don’t need another 458 because I have your old 458 Lott! Someone is going to snag this rifle!

I stand corrected, you are right and my apologies to Mattrix!

Cheap fix....a B&C synthetic stock....have them on my 416 rigby and 500 jeffery....fit me better than the factory wood ones as well
Great stocks for the price. I have two on my CZs and will probably buy another one.

Ok, let’s try something different…
I found a brand-new set of CZ 30mm rings in my safe.
Price: $2,500… and I’ll throw in the rifle for free.
Just kidding.
But seriously — the rings are included with the rifle at no extra charge.
UPGRADES & VERIFICATION:
Professionally glass bedded
Aluminum pillars installed
Rounded / polished bolt for smoother cycling
Three-position safety installed
Matrix Gunsmithing evaluation completed
Feeds both Swift A-Frames and solids smoothly from a full magazine
Video from Tim at Matrix demonstrating feeding reliability available upon request
CZ 30mm rings included

Might want a pic of the rings. Are they the fixed or QR rings?

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
