A member here asked for a loading block and a powder funnel specific to 470 Nitro. I went ahead and drew them up for him. I can make loading blocks for any caliber. If you have an interest, let me know. I’ll make loading blocks for $25 and funnels for $10. You pick the colors you want. Shipping will be Priority flat rate mail, either a small box at $10.20 or a medium box at $17.10.

These are made from PLA plus so don’t store them in areas that get hotter than about 135F. They may deform above that temperature. This 470/500 specific loading block has 6x8 cells for 48 cartridges.

@Wildcatter I'll get the ball rolling.

I would like four loading blocks:
.500NE
.475 No 2*
.450 No 2*
.375 H&H
* these are the same case size, but a different neck diameter

And four funnels:
.500NE
.475 No 2 Jeffery
.450 No 2
.375 H&H

I'll be gone to South Africa until Apr 6 so no rush. Thanks.

Sourdough. Thank you for your request.

I’ll get on the designs for your trays and funnels. I believe the 450 and 475 use different shell holders, don’t they? I know the 700 AHR uses the same shell holder as the 475 No 2 but I had no luck using a 450 No 2 shell holder for it.

I’ll base my sizes on the following rim diameters. I size the holes about 0.020-0.025” larger and it seems to work great

500 NE. 0.655”
450 No 2 0.650”
475 No 2 0.665”
375 H&H 0.532”

I figure I’ll code the funnels to the trays for you with the same colors.

I’ll send you a PM for the rest.

Thank you,

RC

Same shell holder as the 475 No 2 work but the 450 No 2 is a slightly different diameter.

Here are the numbers I have from A-Square and African Dangerous Game Cartridges:

Rim
500 NE. .655"
475 No 2 Jeffery .675"
450 No 2 .660"
375 H&H .532"

Neck
500 NE .532"
475 No 2 Jeffery .515" (.514")
450 No 2 .482"
375 H&H .402"

Thanks

Sourdough

I would like to order loading blocks for 500 nitro express, 450/400 nitro express and 500 Linebaugh in 3 different colors (whatever you have). Thanks!

Sourdough,
Excellent. I will use the dimensions you have supplied and ship them to you on your return.

Thank you,

RC

Green Chile,
I have loaded for all three. I sent you a PM. I should be able to send by the end of the week.

Thanks,

RC

@Wildcatter any chance you may ship to us poor lost souls across the pond??

I don’t see why not. It may be costly, though I’ve never shipped outside of the USA.

Could you do something for .22 Hornet?

Just got my 577 & 600 funnels - nice stuff, well done.

Awesome. I’m glad you like them. I’m doing loading trays now and I’m printing a prototype for a neat loading strip for loading big revolver rounds. I’ll post more as I get pieces made and orders filled.

375er

sure, I can make a 22 hornet specific loading tray and funnel. I’ll send you a PM.

I will be interested on loading blocks for the 577 and 600 rimmed cases. Also, you might want to consider making ammo boxes or cases for the big ones.

Agreed on ammo boxes. Not many big bore options out there.

I actually use fancy gift cases for wine that I buy on Amazon and 3D print inserts for them. It makes for really nice ammo boxes for big stuff like 8 and 4-bore rounds. I have a couple of smaller wooden boxes I plan to make into 577 ammo boxes. I got into it because I couldn’t buy the big J&J slip top boxes any more sense they went out of business. I have about 20 left and that’s all. The only available options are 50 BMG boxes.

I’m happy to make any of these for folks if they want them.

JPMbogo, I’ll draw up some 577 and 600 loading blocks and get your approval before I print. All types are $25 each. Funnels are $10. Ammo boxes will have to be quotes depending on what boxes we use and how much material it takes.

I’ve made enough of these to justify a second printer so I should be able to keep up with demand.

Thank you all for your orders,

RC

Years ago I made a funnel for a .222 from a radio contrast syringe. Also something to keep in mind. The typical RCBS/ Lee etc are to big for .22 centre fire calibers
