No tsetse flies in the delta, though the mosquitos would carry you off as soon as the sun hit the horizon. We fought the flies when we moved on to the camps where we hunted sable and nyala. We were in central Mozambique so no issues with the separatists.
I use mefloquine. I like it because it is a once a week preventative.
