See attached pdf file Communal Conservancies Namibia's Gift To The Earth.

Namibia is internationally acclaimed for its approach to conservation. Protection of the environment is written into the constitution, almost half of the country is under conservation management, and close to 20% is man- aged by communal conservancies. These are self-governing entities that actively manage wildlife and other natural resources, conserving them and benefitting from them economically.

Obviously a very good way to approach the management of the natural resources!

It seems to work pretty well and likely should be used in a lot more areas of Africa. Bruce
