It's no big secret I've been trying to figure out what my next Safari is going to be. I have it narrowed down to either a leopard or a wild Africa hunt of some kind. I'm doing an Rsa lion and buff hunt in two months. My life long dream is to complete or get as close to completing the big 5, or as close as possible on a policeman a salary,in my life. I'm looking at 2017 or 18 as my next safari due to previous obligations. So my question is, can an exportable elephant ( to the U.S. ) hunt be done for 25k all in. No hard feelings if not possible. Just trying to get an idea of where to go from here. A leopard is, from what I understand today, doable as well as a wild Africa hunt( another bucket list item). But... Would an elephant at that price be an option. I'm not hung up on lbs of ivory, I'd just like some to display as well as the tail and maybe some skin panels.

With US F&W bans, you basically only looking at Namibia or SA. You might get lucky with a late season or cancellation hunt, but I don't think many operators would sell an all in elephant safari for 25k. Maybe by 2017/18 Zim will have their ban lifted.

Good luck in finding your bull . South Africa certainly has some good operators and ph's who I'm sure will help you get what you looking for .
I operate here in Zim and at the moment am selling elephant bulls for $25000 all in on a 10 day hunt but with this ban ,oil prices and bad economies a lot of guys saying "would love to but not this year " . Maybe do a non trophy just as fun .

I've thought of a tuskless and would have no problem doing it. The only thing is I would at least want to bring home the tail and with the stinkin ban on imports I couldn't even do that. A tuskless ele/ croc would be a hoot!

Gizmo, if you don't put a line in the water, you will never catch a fish,,,at least with your post you trying...

+1

It was doable last spring in Zim. Maybe they will reopen.

Another option is a Zim nontrophy and have reproduction tusks made.

All the best.
