With the current shortage of powder etc,I don’t want to burn up my Varget and VV N150

I have some Somchem S365 left over to burn on Jackal if possible.Would load with Swift 250gr A-Frames and CCI 250 primers Does anyone have some load data .Have only found data for 300gr Nosler

Thanks

Ngonyama, I have some software that allows you to simulate what different types of powder, charge weights and bullets are likely to "produce." Somchem powders are not as consistent as others. So what I'm saying is that you need to start several grains below the following, which I consider to be maximum. These numbers are based on the rifle having a 24" barrel.

375 H&H Mag, 250Gr. Swift A Frames. Using 80 Gr. of SomChem 365 develops 57,576 PSI which is below the 62,366 Max Pressure. Load density is 101% which isn't a problem. Anticipated velocity is 2,825 FPS with 4430 Ft. Lbs. of energy.

It depends if Somchem made the powder on a Monday or a Friday

I ran some numbers through GRT and got some results that I can live with, but it’s the first time I’m using ballistics software and makes me weary.

Nope so it is not recommended for the 375 H&H

From what I can tell is that it’s not ideal although burn rate is similar IMR 4350.Like I mentioned,I don’t want to burn good powder on vermin.Powder in SA at the moment is like finding a chicken with teeth
