I wanted to see if there would be any interest among members in doing bullet/component swaps or trades.
I have accumulated a surplus of different caliber bullets over time, while also wanting to try others before committing to large quantity purchases. The idea is simple: members could exchange bullets they have in surplus for bullets they would like to try. This could be same caliber or cross-caliber, depending on what each person needs.
For example, someone may have extra .375, .416, .458, or other bullets sitting on the bench, while another member may be looking to test a few different softs or solids for load development. A swap could allow both parties to try something new without each having to buy full boxes. Each swap would be worked out between the individuals involved, based on what each person has and what each person would like to try, all in good faith.
I also do not think this needs to be a strict bullet-for-bullet or count-for-count exchange. Some premium bullets can cost $5-10 or more apiece, while others may cost less than $1 each. The idea would be for both parties to agree on a fair exchange based on the type, value, quantity, and usefulness of the bullets involved. For example I have a lot of Swift/Barnes/North Fork bullets in .375 of different weights that I may never use now that I have stepped up in calibers for DG, but would like to have bullets that are harder to find for some of my smaller calibers, or those in .416, .423, .458, .470, etc.
Potentially the same for brass. I have hundreds of rounds of new unopened Norma and Hornady .375 H&H brass that I may never use, but I would like some additional .416 Rem Mag, .470NE etc.
Would there be any interest in something like this? If so, I’d be happy to list some of what I have available and what I’m looking for, and perhaps others could do the same.
Flat Rate USPS, Stamps.com, in person if close, etc. The goal isn’t to make any money, but get components that we don't already have in inventory, while supplying those we may have a surplus of, or are not of priority use any longer.
