Good day AH community!

We have just finished another wonderful season of Buffalo hunting and cant wait to host everyone in the 2026 season. Limiting our quota every year is certainly paying dividends and we are consistently seeing a definitive increase each year in the buffalo numbers. Specifically older bulls and cows. With 61 buffalo hunted between 2024 and 2025, it’s fair to say we know what we’re doing. Across multiple, well-managed concessions, we’ve maintained a standard that’s hard to match. Once again, we had a phenomenal season, taking some absolutely breathtaking buffalo and, as in previous years, we saw no decline in the age or quality of the buffalo we hunted.

We hunt a limited quota in each of our buffalo hunting venues as part of our ongoing management plan. With properties ranging from 44,000 to 58,000 to 10,000 acres (to name only a handful of venues!) there is a hunt for everyone and every skill level out there! You’ll never be sent to an area that offers anything less than the perfect buffalo hunt for you. Each hunt is planned together with you, taking into account your needs, the time of year, and any other factors that may come into play - such as physical limitations - ensuring you hunt in the best possible area to meet your expectations.

We also like to make it clear that when a hunter books a buffalo hunt with us, our focus is always on age. The size of the buffalo cow you meet is up to your luck on the day - but rest assured, it will always be the right one

Those of you who have hunted Cape Buffalo will know exactly why it is such an addictive hunt and a hunt that deserves all the respect and prestige afforded to it! If you could bottle the feeling of your first buffalo hunt and sell it you'd most definitely be a wealthy man!

Buffalo are truly a noble adversary and it is for this reason that we at Bayly Sippel Hunting Safaris choose to conduct our hunts to the highest standard. Hard hunting on foot by taking the freshest tracks from the day before. The days are very long, consisting mainly of following tracks at a painstakingly slow pace, sweeping roads & checking waterholes. The hunting is fair chase and we will target old buffalo as a preference. The physical demands of the hunt can be high depending on where the hunt takes place. The bush varies from extremely thick thorn bush to semi-open savannah.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
