Looks like it holds a box of shells. If twelve gauge, attachable suspenders might be nice. Fully loaded it would be very heavy! I seldom carry more than ten shells in the field upland hunting. If I can't kill the three rooster limit in ten shots, I need to pack it in. Too tired to hunt. It's very hard these days to find any garment with shell loops that are worth a crap. Either the elastic or the sewing between loops gives out. Something like this with maybe ten or a dozen loops would be great for upland hunting. But then how to get birds in the bag?

The double buckle is an interesting concept. Not sure what is the purpose. I presume the wearer is supposed to roll the belt around as needed to access shells? Seems the one advantage for sure is the hunter will bear a strong resemblance to the Mexican bandito Pancho Villa. Might be useful when competing for that best spot opening morning of duck season.

Slightly bigger bags in UK....pheasant..pigeon etc etc...private shoot I used to be with we shot 800 plus pheasant...ducks, and sometimes geese later in season

I can't imagine myself destroying that many birds in a day or even a year. It would get boring.

Sounds similar to our annual end of year "flurry shoot" at the clays range this Thursday. Team of two shooters in adjacent stalls shoot fifty targets thrown randomly from five different throwers. Most shooters lay ~30 shells on the rail in front of them. I made shell holders from leftover guncase foam for myself and partner.

Pulling them from a belt would not be very effective.

I have watched videos of the pheasant estate shoots in Britain (they do not call it hunting). The shows I've watched someone is constantly handing the shooter a newly loaded gun. Similarly in South America the shooter usually has a stand in front of him with a box of shells. When that box is empty, the guide steps up with another, lid ripped off, and sets it on the stand. Too many birds flying to be messing with refilling shells in a belt.
