I hunted Buffalo with HHK, Wayne Williamson was the PH. I also hunted Plainsgame after an Elephant hunt in the Campfire area with Alec Strauss. I remember driving through the gate and having a monster Leopard walking along side the road in broad day light 50 yards from the vehicle!
can you send me more information on this hunt and what you feel would be the best dates to come for small cats? I was there in February last time so I know it can be hot that time of year? My real dream is the elusive Serval?
I would shoot some of the Plainsgame also.
my email is mrdaley57@aol.com
thanks

Hi drew416,

Thanks for your inquiry about a hunt on Bubye Valley, caught me at home for a couple days luckily!

These pg specials were for 2013, I don't think I'll be able to offer anything similar for 2014 actually. Rates have gone up and the 2 x 1 pg special is $425/day each. This package excludes kudu and waterbuck as well from the plains game tags allocation. The other criterion is that this rate is strictly 2 x 1. The standard PH hunt is $600/day next year and has full complement of pg tags. Also, the specials I advertized were for hunts booked in March/April.
The small cats: don't know that there's really a best time for them - I would say May onwards when cover is dying back. Serval and caracal in particular are purely targets of opportunity at any time and one just has to get real lucky, there's no way you can bait or sit or anything else, it's a simple matter of driving around at night, covering lots of ground, and bumping into one along the way. I shot a serval with a guy in early May - right place, right time, not planned!!
Hope this helps, please feel free to get back to me if I can answer any other questions. I know Wayne well, did so,e years with HHK myself.
Regards,
Ade

Hi Jody,
I have been looking for ideas on the best way to display my European mounts from Africa. I came across some of your shield work and was wondering if you would be willing to make one for me? If so, please let me know the cost. I like the shield with the two spears that you built for a member years ago. Thanks.

Hi Luke. Just saw your message. I am in Dillingham, and have been since 2002. I took an elementary teaching gig here, taught here five years, and then got a job with Togiak National Wildlife Refuge as their education and outreach specialist. Recently I just got a promotion and now I'm the Visitor Services Manager. Prior to DLG I spent 6 years teaching for Lake and Pen in Nondalton.
