I'm headed back over the pond next year and wanted to take my new BAR Safari Boss, but I'm seeing you can't take a semi-automatic to Africa. Any clarification would be much appreciated.

First you should contact your outfitter and see what they say.
Second, we can't help you if we don't know where you are going.
Or where you are traveling from, because that is important as well.

BeeMaa;
thank you. Brain fart for sure. I'm traveling to South Africa from USA.

Can't hunt with a semi-auto in SA. Sorry, no BAR allowed. I wanted to do the same on my first safari. Good thing is it led me to eventually purchase a Blaser R8!

We sold all our rifles and now have 2 Blaser R8's in 4 calibers.
About the fastest bolt action you can get.

Enjoy your upcoming hunt, whatever you decide to take.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
