We had the chance to hunt from a blind this amazing bongo last February in our concession of Vovodo. Truly an amazing achievement for our bow hunter to make perfect shot on that outstanding bull at less than 25 yards he did make 40 yards. This bull was 31 inches with a gorgeous bell shape horn. Beautiful! With 13 stripes, you know it can only be a CAR bongo. Well done!

Fantastic footage! Thanks for sharing and congrats to the hunter...

Fun experience, congrats to the professional and the hunter on a very cool trophy. Neat footage of an entire herd of bongo

Congratulations to all involved. I’m sure that filled a lifelong dream

Very nice! What is the success rate sitting minerals? Is it higher tracking with dogs?

Would love to be the one sending the arrow!

Depend on your physical abilities and also on the weather. You can hunt bongo during the all season by blind but you need some rain to be able to track bongo with dogs.

Wow! Congrats to hunter and PH!

Are you going to be able to actually get your trophy? I (and at least one other person) cannot get our trophies from my hunt in May, 2024.
That’s not that long. I’ve had trophies from Mozambique take almost two years. I did get my bongo from CAR quickly. I hunted June of 2016 and got it home in early 2017.

Not sure if you're saying you hunted with Lefol in CAR. If so, his now-deceased father (2023 of cancer) ran operations in 2016.

Kewin had said October, 2024; not me. Sparse/Reluctant comms with varying excuses (some involving governmental authorities) and other hunter(s) not getting their trophies were and are concerning and lead me to my conclusion of never going to get my trophies. I think Safari Club International is trying to obtain proof he can and has shipped. At least one official there has mentioned he has not responded to their inquiries.

Please read previous posts about concerns of hunters not getting their trophies since Kewin took over for his now-deceased (2023) father.

I did, and am sorry to hear you are having trouble collecting trophies, but I have some from 2024 I have not received yet also. Time and good communication is part of the game. But let that not take away even in the slightest bit, MY DREAM HUNT is a Bongo with a bow and this thread was started about such.

Okay. Well, remember you can also go to Mayo Oldiri in Cameroon, others in CAR, tj3 Rift Valley of Kenya (Mayeb biggest and ugliest, etc. Just trying to warm/caution in case want bongo home. Good Luck.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
