Hello all, we would like to offer our 26/27 Blackbuck hunts. If you have ever wanted to hunt a mature and regal ram here is your opportunity. You will get, first class lodging, and unmatched meals and service. This is a very challenging but very rewarding hunt. Blackbuck are super weary and very smart. They are without a doubt one of the most challenging hunts we offer. Hunts are conducted via spot and stalk; we also welcome bow hunters but hunting from a blind will likely be necessary. I have never successfully stalked within bow range of a mature ram, but it isn't impossible.
Blackbuck are a smaller antelope and rarely stand still for more than a few seconds at a time. For rifle hunters I would recommend a lighter caliber that is flat shooting and that you shoot well. Shot distances on spot and stalk will likely be 200-300 yards.
Blackbuck can be hunted any time of year so really it is up to you as to when to conduct the hunt.

The hunt includes: Guides, meals, lodging, alcohol in moderation, skinning, quartering, and taxidermy prep.
Not included: Pre/Post trip expenses, rifle rental, ammunition, Texas hunting license, tips, etc...
Other animals may be added as per our standard trophy fees

You will also get free unlimited feral pig hunting in addition to your trophy hunt once your ram is successfully taken should time allow.

Cost: 2 day 3 night all inclusive package
Day Fees: 625 x2= $1250 (Day fee total is required to book the hunt)
Trophy Fee: $5250 payable killed or wounded
Non-hunting observers $200/person/night
Extra days and or big game hunting may be added for standard price list

Thank you and we hope to see ya'll in the field!

Does the coat vary in color with age, the season, or with the individual animal? I've seen them vary from almost Pronghorn tan, to chestnut red (my preference), to almost solid black. The ones in your pictures all have outstanding horns and sound like a really challenging hunt.

Sounds like a great hunt
Also the lodge , food, and staff are excellent
Regards to the gang their

Thank you sir and the answer is yes.... so, there are several factors that go into the coloration. Age, Dominance, and season are the main contributing factors. Young blackbuck are born very light in color, as they age, they do darken but...., they turn jet black as they become dominant in their herd area. Cold weather months help a little as their coats are thicker (in comparison, blackbuck are by nature very thin haired much like an impala or something similar) but again dominance is the main factor. I have seen herds that have an abundance of males in them with 22" rams that were tan and red with no black. As rams are killed or loose status in the herd others will take their place and start to darken. It's crazy, blackbuck have a fascinating lifestyle and hierarchy.

Well said!

Looks like an awesome hunt you guys.

I will add, black buck are very delicious. Very very good venison.

All the Indian exotics that call Texas home are so tasty, Nilgai, black buck and axis deer.

All are tasty. This is a great hunt for a beautiful regal antelope and to fill the freezer up.

Nice offer my friend!

It would take a lot of blackbucks to fill a freezer, unless it was a very small freezer.

I've been on several blackbuck hunts-- King Ranch and YO Ranch twice. They were fun and good eating but this particular hunt seems very expensive to me. You are basically shooting an animal about the size of a large labrador but better flavor and bigger horns.

King ranch black buck? Hmm

If you don’t like the Ad… then move on.
This is a top notch hunt from a great sponsor

To best address you question I will say this.
The king Ranch and YO have the luxury of 100’s of 1000’s of acres with thousands of animas. I do not have that luxury. I am pretty industry standard for legitimate hunting ranches in Texas. Our pricing is set at what we have to have to make our business work. Is it higher than a lot, sure but… our service is unmatched. There is a reason Texas Monthly magazine put us in the top 10 hunting ranches in Texas. We were listed as #8 actually. Both the King and Yo were listed as well but yet they are infinitely larger ranches. I’m a small scale personalized operation but I will put our hunts up against anyone and guarantee our service and your experience will be better than all of them. Cheap hunts aren’t good and good hunts aren’t necessarily cheap. If a guy wants to hunt a 100 acre pen in South Texas on a day hunt for a few thousand bucks go for it. That’s not the way we do things and good hunts and service has a higher price tag.
The King Ranch is known for whitetail and Nilgia hunts, their hunts start at $5500 and go up from there for trophy hunts. The YO lists their blackbuck hunts STARTING and 6k. That’s not including a heckava lot of stuff.
Some places have lower day fees and higher trophy fees and others are the opposite. When you average it out across the state we fall right in the upper end of the middle of the pack as far as pricing goes.
I’ve been in the industry for close to 20 years and have seen hunt pricing skyrocket due to inflation and animal costs. The overhead on a an operation of any relevance is astronomical.
I standby my pricing and I know what we are worth. The pricing of some other outfitter somewhere else has really no relevance in my thought process. It is set so I ca make a living and feed my family as well as pay a fare wage to those who work for me. I’ve had about a 99% return rate on clients since I started years ago and there is a reason for that. That being said I’m not for everyone for one reason or another. That’s ok, there are other outfitters that may suite someone’s needs or wants better. I personally don’t want to drive home in a Toyota if I was trying to buy a Ferrari.

I lit a firecracker w/o wanting to. Gizmo I didn't mean to insult you or your operation. The last time I hunted blackbucks was probably 20 yrs ago so obviously I'm not up to speed on current pricing. I'm sure your pricing is in line with competition, maybe better for all I know. I feel certain you run a first class ranch/hunt. It seems expensive to me for the targeted animal. I would rather shoot a nilgai or an aoudad for 6500 than a blackbuck but certainly to each his own and if a hunter hasn't shot a blackbuck I'd say go for it and enjoy the hunt. Once again sorry for speaking out.

Sir I didn't take it as an insult. Pricing is always a legitimate question, and I encourage people to ask questions whether it be with me or any other outfitter. You certainly weren't rude about it and I hope my answer didn't come across as rude, I assure you that wasn't my intent.
Anytime anyone is looking to hunt anywhere they should ask about pricing, accommodations, expectations, how long they've been in business, equipment, hunt methods, and a billion other questions as well as getting references. There is a jillion outfitters out there and unfortunately a heckava lot of them are fly by night outfits that screw people. I'd say for every one good one there are two crappy ones these days and that applies globally.
No offense taken I just hope I was able to address your concern. I am all about transparency.

I would very much love that, I will be here when you are ready.

@'68boy I responded to your email inquiry but for some reason my email was giving me fits replying. I think I finally got it to send but if you don't get it let me know and I can either call you or pm you here. Thanks

I got your email and will call you in a few mos to set something up. The problem you had emailing me isn't your or your computer's fault-- my computer has a mind of it's own and frequently sends a rebound message to senders but it does deliver the messages to me as well. I don't know how to cure it and my kids are tired of clearing up my computer problems. I looked at your website and look forward to setting something up with you. A hunt in the USA sounds good after hassling with Africa and New Zealand.

I have not hunted with Gizmo... yet.
BB are similar in size and speed to springbok. Both herd animals, so lots of eyes and ears.
..and when you blow a stalk you might as well stand up and watch the vapor trail because they aren't stopping anytime soon.
Just wanted to add my .02 since I've been lucky enough to have successfully hunted both.

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
