Black Bear

I took this bear DIY on public land this past fall on my first Colorado hunt. @gizmo rugged it for me and I cleaned/bleached the skull. I dont like felt so I had him trim it with a leather edge. Really happy with how everything turned out!

Very nice. I plan to head to Colorado this fall for DIY bear. My brother and several of his friends are archery elk hunting and my dad and I plan on bear with rifle. My understanding from my brother is you just find a spot where an avalanche occurred in the recent past and sit on the high ground watching.

Find the food, find the bears. If its hot out, a water source can be promising also.

I also prefer closed mouth on rugs. Kudos on DIY on public! I’m looking forward to a 2 bear hunt this year on the White Mountain
reservation. Hoping for color phase bears that are often seen there.
