Big Game Hunting In Africa Is Economically Useless IUCN

Democratic hunting of what you call it = low cost hunting you will find in RSA, up here in Zambia or Tanzania and also Mozambique you must as outfitter focus on big game hunting that comes with a high price tag off course in combination of high quality hunting, in other wise we can not running the anti poaching and contribution to the local communities.

It's a tricky subject. I'm still not sure what the answer is. Outfitters are of course running a business as well as giving back to conservation. The only worry is that these areas do not have the popular support they do in North America just last week a concession (Hurungwe) was invaded by squatters with tacit political support and.none of the bleating that followed 'Cecil'. If a politician in North America tried to do that they would be hung out to dry.

Re South Africa most hunting is conducted on is private land. SA also has a small domestic hunting industry which seems to be pretty vibrant. I just wonder how those big state concessions north of the Limpopo will withstand expanding populations and other development pressures of the next 20 years.

The Campfire model in Zim and others used to be very good for community development as conservation. I just wonder if they need to be adapted for the 21st century.
