Good day AH community,

We have been sitting here during lock down watching all these amazing videos of hunters tracking down big Lord Derby Eland in C.A.R and realized that most people don't know that you can do the same here in South Africa for monstrous old blue bulls! And what an incredible hunt it is! We will be hunting the bulls the exact same way we hunt buffalo. The days are long with it consisting mainly of sweeping roads, checking waterholes for likely tracks and hunting of course. You have to be fit for this hunt as you will likely average up to 15km a day, and on some days a bush lunch will be the order of the day. They are truly a noble adversary

The hunt will take place on two of our biggest areas depending on availability. It promises to be a fantastic hunt for those who are prepared to hunt hard for their Eland bull!

You would land at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and from there it is either a relatively painless 2 hours drive towards Northam in Limpopo or a 3 and a quarter hours drive towards Limpopo and the Botswana border.

The hunt is as follows:

5x full hunting days
1x trophy Eland bull
USD$3800
CAD$5130
AUD$5500
EUR€3350
All inclusive

*To add an extra hunter $290 per day
*To add an observer $225 per day

What is included:
• Licensed Professional Hunter, a Tracker, Skinner and hunting vehicle.
• Accommodation on a full board basis, incl. non-alcoholic drinks and table beer/wine
• Transfer from and to Johannesburg international Airport.
• Transport between and on hunting Area A and Area B
• Laundry service (Except on Sundays).
• Field preparation of Trophies.
• Licenses for trophies (Permit controlled animals excl)

What is excluded:

• Flight from and to Johannesburg International Airport, and any national flights from one concession to the next.
• Hard tack (whiskey, brandy etc)
• Firearms and ammunition. (Rifle Hire – $30 /Day if used)
• Hotel accommodation before and after the hunt – if required.
• Taxidermy, packing, insurance, transport.
• Dipping and shipping of trophies.
• Personal expenses ex. Tips, Telephone, Souvenirs etc.
• Tourist Programmes

We hope to hear from you!

Kind regards,
Dempsey Bayly and Michael Sippel

Some nice bulls there! I know a lot of folks like the worn down horns and big mop of old bulls, but I prefer the longer horns...

How big ist the area?
Fanced?

Thank you.
F.
12 000 acres and 13 000 acres Sir. It is fenced but we normally only take 1 to 2 bulls a season so we have some ancient bulls running around!

Kind regards,

You said this about hunting Lord Derby Eland, but when asked, your reply was
Cape Eland sir

Our apologies for any misunderstanding sir, what we meant was that you can hunt a Cape Eland here in South Africa in the same manner as a Lord Derby hunt is conducted in C.A.R - by following tracks. That was some poor typing I think from our side!

Kind regards,

Hunting old eland bulls on foot is more difficult than hunting Cape buffalo and in many cases can be more rewarding.....irrespective of the species/sub species....My favorite PG animal for a challenging hunt

Until this guy posts something on pay it forward free I would avoid him at all costs.

If it hasn't sold by next week I might be interested. Stock would have to be changed along with some other items. I'm already having a 416 Rigby built so money is a tad bit tight.

Hey pal! I'll take all the .375 bullets if they're available.
Thanks!
