Australian Government attack on reloading

Yeah nah. Aussies don't think they're superior in any way. It's purely a cultural difference. Licenced firearms owners are simply a smaller percentage of the population than in USA. Recent media reports have declared that there are just over 4 Million registered firearms in Australia. And 90% of those would be owned by a very small number of enthusiasts. The rest of the population is ignorant and the poliscum prey on this whenever anything bad happens with guns.
No you're not thinking from the ANTI perspective the NONE GUN OWNER perspective, the people that don't want a gun & don't like guns, I can absolutely understand the humble side of the actual gun owners in Australia and all the red tape & demonizing that they need to go through, but I am STRICTLY speaking about NONE gun owners having a snob like take on Australia having better gun laws than America which is why Australia doesn't see the massacres America does which is why Australia "did it better" than America.

I'm not actually talking about Australian Gun Owners here...

EDIT: And none gun owners / those that don't want or like guns vastly out number those that DO in Australia which is why Gun Control "controls" the narrative IN Australia.

Fair enough. I agree that attitude is rife amongst under 40's - Gen X & Y and Millenials.
For most the attitude is "I'm OK Jack, it doesn't affect me - so go hard".

It also stems from Americas Dominance Globally, a lot of people do not like it and want to "clap back" so look for reasons to "1 up" America in something they have in their own country, Australia in this case (even if it's just a popular perception & not a statistical fact).

No I would say that attitude is rife <period> in fact I'd say I've personally heard more Anti-Gun Boomers than Anti-Gun Millennials/Zoomers, after all it was the Boomers that lived through (and I quote) "The existential horror of Port Arthur that you young people were either to young to remember or didn't even exist to endure through!"

It's the entire country.

The attitude you mention is only heard from activists, journalists & politicians (irrespective of location) trying to justify their BS. Rarely heard from ordinary people.

In terms of generational diferences, some of the biggest increases in range attendences and club membership are coming from the younger generation. They are discovering firearms and enjoying them. One of our biggest growth areas even though older shooters are more numerous.

Currently there are around 18 million enrolled voters in Australia. There are approximately 1 million voting age licenced firearm owners, most of whom have family and friends. This represents a significant slice of the voting public. Feedback from Canberra is that the politicians have been rattled by the massive numbers signing petitions, emailing their MPs, and objecting to the new laws. The leftist politicians couldn't see outside their idiologican bubble and thought being anti-gun was a lay down misere.

@458JCE most states aren't following NSW. The bigest issue for R8 owners will be access to barrels and parts given the import restrictions on straight pull rifles. I also wonder what would be the situation for a hunter returning from Africa. Would he be able to return with his R8. Might find out when the Olympic team try to return with their Biathlon rifles.

ps. Make sure to never vote Labor again. In NSW never vote for the Libs either, total betrayal.

Nope it's from the common folk, parents & grandparents, because I don't associate with activists extremists but I still keep hearing Anti-Gun propaganda from average run of the mill parents / grandparents etc.

I agree that it's actually young people that can (& will one day) instill positive change for Gun Owners within Australia.

Double edged sword that boomers don't realize they are wielding when they use Port Arthur as the foundation for Australia's needed Gun Control whilst simultaneously mocking/degrading/humiliating younger generations for simply being too young or not present to live through it, that's right, yeah......<crickets>........ Which is EXACTLY why the young Pro-Gun people of Australia are more open to reducing gun control because it is EXACTLY as the Boomers say " too young too remember or wasn't even born yet" and so don't see the need for such strict Gun Control.

Agreed,

I also think that the US population is about 14 times that of the us so that probably adds to things statistically.

14 x more guns, crooks, Bloody Politicians, states (almost) maybe more bad areas or a different constitution and management of firearms legislation and manufacturing, something we send offshore

I don’t know where the Australians think they are superior comes from. I’m not familiar with it.

The US is another western country. An Allie and an English speaking country. I haven’t had much to do with Americans.

I think when you look at Australian actors and Artists in America they are probably there for work opportunities because of Hollywood, Nashville or whatever else feeds their dreams and talent.

Potentially there is a bigger following

I'm not disagreeing with the statistics when comparing the USA to AUS or vice versa I mean we're all pro-gun here so we see through the emotional manipulation that the leftists use as their core to boost their ranks and spread their message, we here are all on the same side of Pro-Gun, but this Pro-Gun thinking is the minority in Australia not the Majority.

Robert Katter (a country/rural politician in Australia) repeatedly says he's tired of "City Slickers" out voting Country Folk on what Country Folk need/use when the majority of "City Slickers" don't even need/use them yet have the final say of yay or nay.

Downunder-upsidedown-backthef*ckwards.

Be careful of hunting Chewore South, the area has been decimated.....

Curious about this. I hunted Chewore South with D&Y in September and they did tell me it was there last hunt there.

Which outfits shot it out?
